If you’re looking for a comprehensive offering of fresh and modern Australian and European cuisine, head down Princes Highway from Sydney city, just over the Georges River to Sylvania, and look for Double U Kitchen. Sydney rock oysters and wild rocket salads, grilled meats, seafood and vegetables are just some of the dishes on offer. Given Double U’s proximity to the water, it’s no surprise that the restaurant puts a lot of emphasis on seafood, with the grilled fish of the day always something to return for and salt and pepper tiger prawns and calamari mouthwateringly good. For a real salty smorgasbord, tuck into the Double U Fisherman’s Basket for one, loaded with the fish of the day, grilled octopus, prawns and scallops, beer-battered and fried fish and calamari. Don’t forget Double U Kitchen’s discount lobster Tuesdays, fish and chips Wednesdays, and surf and turf Thursdays.
The food was great and the service was very friendly. The prices are very reasonable for seafood and the range and choice of food on the menu is good.
