Great food and helpful and friendly staff. Well priced too

Food was delicious, service was friendly and quick. Compliments to the chef. What would make the experience even better would be to play some Spanish music for customers in the background. Would bring the whole atmosphere together.

Atmosphere was average, food was average, but what was uneditable was the corn. It was all burnt so that's all you tasted which was pretty bad but they said that's the way they do it. We have been to quite a few Mexican restaurants & no one burns them. I get nicely bbqed corn, not burnt which is delicious. Sorry we won't be back.

Had an awesome Birthday dinner with family. Literally random Mexican restaurant selection on the day with a Google search. The food was delicious and filling. The service was by a genuine person who wanted to hear about our experience. Thank you and we look forward to visiting again.

Service was slow. 25min to get drinks. Bad cocktails. Couldn't taste any alcohol. Food was so so. Didn't taste any Mexican flavours. Just felt like a cheap cafe. Too expensive for what u get.

The food was lovely BUT the service was a little slow. It took 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive and 35 for the food. The restaurant was full when we got there and the lovely waitress was clearly feeling overwhelmed. Such potential here but clearly both the kitchen and the floor staff need to fine tune their training. We will try again. Another issue for me was that the writing on the menu was so small I had trouble reading it.

Disappointed that they served our mains before our entree with no apology or or saying anything until we raised with them. If not for this raring would have been higher as food was great.

Delicious value packed meal! Corn chips were amazing, served with chilli con queso and guacamole. Main meals of chicken/chorizo paella, original beef burrito, chicken fajitas and beef chimichanga. So tasty and filling. We might’ve taken dessert home for later as we were so full 🙈

Great service, decor / space could do with some work. Lots of potential but no atmosphere. Extremely delicious food, just missing a couple of Mexican staples: Sangria and juicy flavourful barbacoa beef, in a rich deep sauce. The chicken, beef and pork were yummy, but my all time favourite is a rich barbacoa which was not there. Wines very poor, but I appreciate not a high priority at Mexican restaurant.

Food was amazing and really value for money (no credit card surcharge or public holiday surcharge to top it off). We have eaten here twice in 3 days, and so glad to be locals and have this at our doorstep!

Food was good but when paying was asked to give a tip when paying by card. Considering two different beers we asked for and one entrée were not available, I thought asking for a tip was a little rude!

We loved dining at El Centro Essendon. The flavours were fresh as delicious, portions filling and prices very reasonable. Excellent food and service. Ambiance was really good too! Will definitely go back!

It was a great experience till we got the bill. The waiting period was 45 minutes which I felt was too long. The service itself was excellent but the resturant was full but they only had one waitress! They do need more staff. The food was outstanding. No wine list and only having a restricted few bottles to choose from was disappointing. What slightly curbed our enthusiasm for the meal; was being charged $106 for a $16 bottle of wine! However when the price was contested we were given a $ 40 discount on the bill. They do need to print out a wine list with more choices and prices displayed. You need to check the price of the wine before ordering if you dine there. certainly would recommend this resturant as food is really good.

Food was really fresh, and tasted really good. They need to update the menu to ensure the allergies symbols are correct but other than that we had an enjoyable evening.
