Very nice food, (risotto our favourite) good service, nice decor. It was a cold evening outside so the courtyard was not the most comfortable. Perhaps cushions on chairs ?
The food and service was excellent! The ambience was lovely. I'm coeliac and it was no problem to cater to my dietary needs. I'll be back for sure!
Great atmosphere, incredibly delicious food, elegantly presented and so healthy. Great wine selection. Fabulous wait service. Slightly loud, but they turned the music down a bit for us, which was so kind. Would definitely come again!
Had a really nice dining experience here. The food was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and didn't feel at all rushed. Will be back
Having been to Folonomo before I had great expectations, but the second time around the service was disorganised (3 different waiters asked us for our drinks order and we had to remind them that we'd actually ordered for our drinks to arrive) and the food was super slow to arrive. Our reservation was at 7.30pm and we didn't leave til 10.30pm! The food was great but based on the experience this time around, I wouldn't go again.
The food was excellent. We went with a 10 year old girl - who we were not sure would find something she liked - but she loved it. Great service.
Lovely atmosphere, cool design and good food. Would love to try the bar and also come here during the day. The cocktails are amazing too. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful space, lovely people creating the food, vegetarian friendly. Dinner was great so we went back two days later for breakfast which was also delicious. A new neighbourhood favourite.
Unfortunately our experience could've only gone downhill quicker if we had walked head first into the glass front door. After being seated we learned that Folonomo had become licensed on Tuesday. As our booking was made a month ago, an email, text or phone call could've prevented any issues. Instead, we arrived with a bottle of wine that I'd been saving for five months after receiving it as a 40th birthday present and told we couldn't drink it and would be stuck with it for the rest of our night out. With our high expectations for the night dashed at the first hurdle (the only compromise offered was to surrender the bottle to the restaurant and retrieve it at a later date, which was too inconvenient - we'd already invested a large amount in a babysitter and cabs just to be able to go out for dinner), we both ordered the risotto on the waitress's recommendation, paid the bill and left. After taking our order the waitress avoided our table, and unfortunately our bill was probably the smallest the restaurant has ever taken. If ever there was a restaurant worth spending more at it was Folonomo due to its social conscience. We thought the BYO issue was handled extremely poorly, particularly as on this rare occasion I was emotionally attached to the bottle of wine and couldn't just get rid of it before we headed out afterward. Expensive restaurants are supposed to make you feel special for a couple of hours, and we felt like criminals as the restaurant couldn't be bothered to let patrons know of the rule changes. I'm sure other reviews will give a more predictable account of what to expect dining at Folonomo.
Excellent food, interesting dishes that were extremely tasty. Buzzy vibe and a mixed demographic of patrons all made for a great night. Only reservation was the extremely high price of drinks, way out of proportion to the food cost. A half carafe of wine for close to $50 is I feel a bit steep.
The food and service was excellent! We had the banquet menu (highly recommend) and the poached chicken was a standout. Everything was just delicious. We will definitely be back soon!
The food was excellent. Great tapas like menu with original dishes. The wine list whilst not large offered some nice options. Great food service and value for money.
Great service with a smile, excellent tasty food, warm welcoming surrounds. The food combinations in each dish were really interesting - we had the banquet and every dish was very very good
One of the best dining experiences I've had in Sydney in a long time. Ticked all the boxes- food, drink, service and atmosphere. This place tells a story and it's an inclusive one that I want to revisit again v.soon.
The place is stylish without being pretentious in any way, the service is slick and never too imposing, the food was all round excellent with the right balance of creativity and complexity of flavours without anything being overpowering or missing the mark by trying too hard. We are vegequarian and there was plenty to choose from for one visit, although maybe new choices would be limited the second time around. Add the positive ethical stance and it's just about a perfect dining experience. Very much recommended.
My husband and I had an excellent dinner here the other night. Really tasty, inventive dishes and great service. We will definitely come back again.
Great little corner style cafe/restaurant with terrific ambience and some special treats on the menu (the poached chicken man was exceptional!) to suit casual diners and special occasion. We had two seats at the kitchen counter and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the win, the banter between the kitchen staff (and between them and us from time to time) and the always attentive service. The best compliment I can give this place is that my experience with the dishes ordered and watching the prep in the kitchen to make our meals has made me excited to return to try the rest of the menu. Thoroughly recommended.
Food was superb. Fresh, adventurous and flavoursome. Atmosphere excellent and kitchen and floor staff attentive, open and friendly. We love eating at the long bench where you can see the kitchen and chat to the kitchen staff. All round exceeded expectations.
One of the best restaurants I have done in sydney! Great place, great food, great service! A little bit expensive but so worth it and for a good cause. Loved it!
Great food service not so attentive on drinks though had to keep asking for water al the time. Really nice atmosphere though would go again
Lovely food, hearty but modern. Nicely done decor and a good atmosphere. Good for an intimate dinner or catch up with a couple of friends.
Very nice restaurant good service stunning food and awesome everything, try each entree as possible as you can. Poached chicken breast with yummy sauce and halznut amazing experience
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Great service and great concept. Should be more of it. My only gripe and it's not really a gripe but the tables are a little small when 4 people are sitting in a table for 4.
The food is inventive and very tasty. Most dishes are ideal for sharing. Service was excellent also. Don't forget this is a BYO. Highly recommended.
Great food, in a cool urban setting. Baked cheesecake was a winner! BYO with handy nearby bottle shop. Menu was just the right size to order a sample of everything for a group of six.
The service was impeccable. I reserved a table as a special occasion- Mothers Day. The waiters suggestion to share an entree, main and desert was perfect.
Food and service was lovely, table and chairs are a bit wobbly, tables were tiny for all the dishes to sit on. Yummy food, would go back.
Delicious food, Slow cooked Lamb, Cauliflower rice Yum! Cod fritters were crispy and light, Octopus was meaty and soft. Desserts to die for Lovely staff
We really loved this place! Sitting up at the kitchen bench, delicious menu & friendly service. Definitely recommend! The octopus should be a must order.
Amazing food and service. Sunflower risotto was so unique. Love the concept of giving the proceeds to charity and sharing the space w likeminded enterprises.
Fantastic little place in the heart of Suffy Hills. Great food and prompt service. Really enjoyed my night there and will come back again to sample more off the delicious menu.
Amazing place, great food, great staff, great location! I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Congratulations on this new concept, this is definitely a success!
Excellent food and service. I would say it is one of the best that you can get for your money in Sydney. The music is a bit loud though. An absolute try.
Delicious food, attentive service,am happy with the experience over all. I would recommend it to others. Desserts were particularly tasty. I liked the interior of the place too.
Just fantastic! Go with a group so you can try everything. The beef was especially good. So good that i had an allergic reaction (my own gamble - fish allergy and menu does say eel butter) and kept eating anyway!!
We went to Folonomo for a birthday and left 100% satisfied. Great food, great service and fantastic venue. Plus BYO- what's there to complain about? Would definitely recommend.
Amazing restaurant. I'd never been for dinner before (only breakfast at Gratia, which is superb) but the dinner menu is delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant at night is divine. Such a great little local.
The food was fresh, creative and delicious. The baked cheesecake was to die for! The service was efficient and friendly, and all of this, with a social conscience!
Delicious food complete with a short explanation from the chef about how certain dishes were prepared. I booked online easily, and suggest booking in advance, particularly for tables looking to dine at the 8:30pm and later session. Waitress recommendations were helpful, attentive service from all staff. Great concept, great evening.
Loved it, delicious food. Recommended it immediately to friends and they made a booking for Saturday (Angel/Saul). Am also telling at least 4 other friends.
Folonomo is definitely going to be a regular dinner spot! We had such a great time. The food was so fresh and of extremely good quality, and the restaurant had such a beautiful ambience.
Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Wait staff friendly and diligent. Love the food quality and freshness!! Comfortable surroundings and courtyard area very quaint. Would highly recommend if you want to eat healthy!!
The restaurant was cozy and inviting with friendly wait staff and a delicious menu. Then there is the added bonus of being socially responsible! Definitely worth a return visit.
Delicious food which also catered well for vegetarians, lovely warm atmosphere and cool, understated decor. This place is well worth a visit but you need to book as it fills up quickly!
Excellent service and atmosphere. Great tasting food that is healthy and delicous! Highly recommend the risotto, cauliflower rice and the chicken and lamb main dishes.
Great food and service. The lamb main was the highlight. Byo while they wait for their liquor licence at the moment is very convenient. Love the social responsibility concept. Will definitely go back.
Fantastic food, amazing value and perfect decor- though a bit of a mix of wait staff - either very lovely or very grumpy. BYO at the moment too.
Great food, friendly staff, good cause. We had the olives and flatbread, kingfish tartare, lamb with dirty rice, chicken, yellow squash and two desserts. The only minus was the yellow squash, everything else was excellent. The wine by the carafe was great.
Great food, amazing steak and kipfler potoatoes- perfect balance of salt. The staff were pleasent and the atmosphere was relaxed. Corkage was expensive at $5 a head
This is without a doubt one of my best dinning experiences in Sydney and easily takes the number 1 spot in my 2015 - 2016 list of fav resultants and I reckon it will remain there for a very long time as I reckon it will be extremely hard to beat!!! My fav dish of the night was the Cod croquettes which were so out of this world all I could say was "omg omg omfg" and nearly teared up because of how amazing they were, the flavour combo and the texture were like something I'd only dreamed about!! Everything else was also delicious. And the kouign amann dessert is to die for!! Service was extremely friendly and very attentive. And all this was made For Love Not Money - FOLONOMO: non-for-profit Resturant who donate all profits to charity!
