There were 6 of us so we chose the banquet menu, which whilst it was not the cheapest option, was good value. Beautiful flavours, and so much of it! The barramundi was our favourite, along with the tapioca fritters. The first five courses came in a rush then we asked for a break, which became a really long gap. Perhaps ask to space out the courses more evenly. The service was good though our waitress kept saying spicy when she meant spiced, which meant my son who doesn't like spicy food missed out, despite our reassurances! Overall, great food, good atmosphere and we love the idea of a restaurant with a social conscience, putting profits back into the community. Enjoy!

Great food, great service, nice atmosphere. I would be happy to send anyone here, from a romantic couple to a group night out. Loved it from start to finish, including the great coffee!

Folonomo has fabulous food and even better service. It is always a pleasure to eat here with friends. And the gallery upstairs was a revelation.

The limited menu is very interesting and delicious, the staff are friendly & attentive without being obtrusive and the concept is brilliant. This was our second time there and we thoroughly enjoyed it - we'll definitely be back.

Terrific use of fresh vegetables every dish stands on its own classy and well plated imaginative pairings the staff are knowledgeable, warm and make you feel very welcome we love it here

Delicious menu. We chose the dumplings to share, followed by the chicken and steak. All perfect. Smiling, friendly faces greeted us and were all very helpful when we had questions regarding our wine choices. Loved the low lighting too. A perfect evening. Thank you all at Folonomo.

The art gallery is sick. Food was good. Service was good. The Mataro red wine was awesome. The decor was epic. All in all, very good.

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Really nice cosy space with friendly staff. The food was modern Indian inspired but it is a pop up so the chef will change every 3 months.

What a surprise. Didn't know what to expect. The food was very eclectic with a south Asian feel. Everything really went well together. We will return for more.

The food was fresh with strong flavours, had to send the beef back to the kitchen, looked like it hadn't touched the grill. However the staff where rude, pushy and slow, it took over 20 minutes to get the bill delivered to the table and when we got sick of waiting the waiter told us to remain seated all transactions are taken at the table and ask outright what we would pay for service.

Great vibe, great food and good cocktails. Staff were friendly and attentive and serving portions generous. Menus change as they rotate chefs but the fish we had was excellent

The restaurant is really nice and the idea behind it is great. Get there early because we got there at 8:30pm and unfortunately they run out of the only meat dish on the menu. Great atmospheres and service.

Spectacular flavours. Low lighting in back area makes it difficult to read the menu. Please steak knives with steak. Difficult cutting with knives provided particularly end pieces of rump. Look forward to next visit.

A really nice seasonal menu to share. We very much enjoyed the food & the ambience and the staff were friendly and attentive. Folomono is making the not for profit model work so well without compromising on quality - win-win all round. Thanks!

Was great 6 months ago but this time the food was really average. Don't have the apple pudding. The sponge was really really dry and the chocolate option just dry biscuit . Very disappointing .

Gorgeous venue, gorgeous food, amazing cocktails and beautiful art. We will be back. We LOVED IT. We went for the 7 course sharing menu as there was 4 of us, honestly felt so at home, conversation was flowing as this delicious food kept coming out, the portions were bigger than I expected as well!!

Great little restaurant with delicious food. I'd probably describe it as Modern Australian with a middle eastern twist. Lovely ambience with friendly service (though the server forgot our side dish!). Great experience and will go again.

Delicious comfort food with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern touches, friendly professional service and a 'profit-for-cause' concept. The ambience is rustic and sophisticated with ambient lighting. Highly recommended.

Food was great and well presented. Service was prompt and good but a little pretentious. All dishes were perfect except the steak. All the medium rare steaks ordered came out well-done and the one well-done came out medium...

Between 4 of us we shared 8 dishes out of possible 12(?). 2 were spectac - prawn threads & kingfish. The menu had changed that day - and the chef. They need to extend their wine list & stock. Need more sparkling wine options. Great service

Warm environment, the fore was burning in the corner. Easy share plates, especially the entrees. The tapioca dumplings are good. We shared our mains as well. Nice wine list too.

Awesome healthy food and atmosphere. Excellent Service. Would be definitely going there again with friends or relatives. Go to place after a cricket or rugby game.

amazing food and service on a cold and busy night. waitress was really helpful and lovely, food was delicious (a little small - was said that it was for sharing, which you could with maybe two, but if you're a big eater probably order an extra main), and ambiance was great.

Was average food, table too small for 4 people. Service was good, nice decor inside and good luck to location. Overall was just average for us.

Had a booking at 6:30 and to be out by 8:30, however we never felt pressured to leave and it was a Friday night! Left at 10:30 pm after a fabulous meal and sensational service, great vibe.

Everything was delicious and zinging with freshness. Loved it and happy to be part of a community supporting the work and vision of these guys.

Food excellent, as is bare brick, funky interior, not too noisy. Sunflower risotto a stand-out. Profits go to,charity so even better. But sadly no longer BYO.

Healthy fresh and delicious food. Great cause, staff were fine. The dessert we had was incredible: baked pear and lemon curd with some kind of cake. Wine list a touch on the expensive side

Folonoma has a lovely atmosphere, great service and delicious food! They also do a byo on Tuesday.. This is worth a visit and is for a worthy cause!

What a great place to dine! This was my second visit and again I was not disappointed! Do yourself a favour and get along to enjoy a wonderful experience of yummy food and great service!

Fantastic dining experience. We will definitely be returning. As a non-seafood eater I was very impressed when the waiter suggested they could replace the King Fish with eggplant. Yum yum yum!

Food was very tasty, definitely recommend the rump steak. Ambience has a hipster feel to it. Worth trying. Best to go with a group of four or more so that you can try more of the menu, which is designed to share.

Great new restaurant in Surry Hills, good service and great food! We were there for a birthday celebration and they made it extra special for my friend.
