Tucked beside the Lane Cove Plaza on Burns Bay Road, Fourth Fish Cafe & Restaurant is a cool, chic venue that first catches your eye for its funky decor and tastefully executed modern maritime design. However, the most important thing is what lies beneath, and what lies beneath is a treasure trove of exceptional seafood, simply prepared, and simply delicious. Hauled in fresh every day from the Sydney fish market, the produce on offer at Fourth Fish Cafe & Restaurant is a hand-picked cross-section of the finest Australian seafood available, like char-grilled Tasmanian octopus, grilled barramundi or swordfish, spiced popcorn prawns or natural Pacific oysters. But you don’t have to be a seafood lover, because other options are just as outstanding, including the Portuguese chicken or wagyu beef burgers, Greek salad with Yarra Valley feta or beetroot salad with honey, walnuts and mint. Fourth Fish are fully licenced, too, and open for lunch and dinner, so there’s never a bad time to try it.
consistently great food and service, a Lane Cove favourite and will be back again
Fourth Fish is a local gem. Good quality meals, a wide variety of interesting menu choices, cheerful helpful service and a delightful environment - especially on a balmy evening in Lane Cove Plaza. Reasonable prices and its BYO status make this a really excellent addition to the Lane Cove dining scene.
Friendly staff and excellent food. Nice location especially for the kids to wander around the plaza nearby so we could relax and have some time, while keeping an eye on them.
Great food, relaxed atmosphere, good service made for a very enjoyable experience with very reasonable prices. Would highly recommend. We will definitely be going back.
The food was excellent & the staff provided good service. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. It's just a shame that the restaurant is right next to the mall's outdoor eating area, kids were running amuck, screaming & at one stage a child fell onto our table. This went on until 9 pm.The restaurant has a awnings separating them from the mall, however in between the gaps kids where playing with pretend guns which had automatic gun sounds shouting at the restaurant patrons. I know it's not the restaurants fault, just a shame where they are positioned. Having said that we will give it another go.
The Sword Fish was delicious, perfectly cooked, and the Slaw is delicious. The Children's menu is quite comprehensive, and looked well presented, appealing to a child. The service was a bit slow, but that could be explained by the fact that the Restaurant was VERY busy, a good sign. I have been to Fourth Fish a few times, and the food has been consistently good, would highly recommend it.
Always a pleasant experience. Food is lovely and very reasonably priced. The fish pie is my favourite. Our table also had the flathead, John Dory, popcorn prawns (kids favourite) and fish and chips. Coffee and dessert (try the lemon tart or pan a cotta) to finish up.
On a particularly hot evening we visited Fourth Fish and were greeted with smiles despite our wanting to change our table to one that was out of the evening sunlight. We were served very promptly and we all enjoyed our meals. We will certainly make a return visit to this restaurant.
We always enjoy the evening at Fourth Fish in Lane Cove. The fish is fresh and cooked just right and the value for money is excellent. The service is never anything but friendly and efficient. However, this Friday evening past, we were disappointed because we could not hear ourselves speak. There was an extremely loud video presentation showing right next-door to the restaurant and the volume was unbearable. I hope the restaurant is able to prevent this from occurring in the future.
Crazy busy (Christmas diners). Even though we'd booked, a walk in couple took our table. Service was sketchy until we were served by the owner (I think he was the owner). Food is good and what you'd expect from a neighbourhood fish restaurant. The restaurant is situated in Lane Cove village plaza area which makes for pleasant al fresco dining. Value for money - recommend to anyone with family, small party groups, couples. It is a neighbourhood gem.
