Granny's Noodle

With steam and soupy smells wafting into the middle of Burwood from this bustling Chinese restaurant, it does have a certain feel befitting a nostalgic grandmother’s kitchen, the ideal place to cosy in out of the cold. But unless your grandmother used to dish up braised tripe, pickled yukina and intestine with potato noodles, you may be in for something other than a childhood memory. The spectacular food from Granny’s Noodle is not your standard Chinese fare – though there are plenty of familiar options like a beautiful braised beef with rice, vegetarian fried noodles and gorgeous hand-made cabbage and pork dumplings – but a mixture of ancient imperial Chinese standards, modern twists and traditions from the Jiangnan region of China brushing the Yangtze River Delta. Central Sydney doesn’t have a Chinese eatery like it, and its prime location on Burwood Road means Granny’s Noodle is never quiet so it’s always wise to beat the crowd and book ahead!
