Given the current climate surrounding COVID-19, many authorities are placing restrictions on social gatherings. In the best interest of everyone’s safety, we are continuously updating the availability of our partner restaurants to reflect these measures. We encourage people to still support the restaurant industry in other ways.Learn how
There are plenty of restaurants in the Melbourne area that claim to bring authentic Italian tastes to the streets of the Victorian capital. In the world of pizza, a wood-fired oven is the barometer by which the quality is measured, and at Heaven Woodfire Pizza, they have one of the best around. Their location – on Gaffney Street in Coburg to the north of the city – is perfect for locals and travellers alike, so book a table now and taste the difference.

My husband had the seafood pizza and said it was delicious. I ordered the Anchovy Pizza and the anchovies had a terrible tinny taste. I was really disappointed, the staff did offer to replace it with something else, but I was put off at that stage.
Excellent quality pizza with very decent sizes. Not too expensive either, and a really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I will be back here for sure!
Since our original visit, this has become a regular haunt. Excellent food, terrific pricing, wonderful staff. Pizza options are plentiful & their icecream offerings a lovely finishing touch to a meal. They have always been happy to vary menu items for us, which makes the place feel like family.
From the red sauce joints of Lygon Street and Carlton to the upscale ossobuco experts of the city centre, Italian food is an obsession in Melbourne – understandable given the huge migrant population – and there is massive competition between restaurants. Heaven Woodfire Pizza on Gaffney Street in Coburg uses its eponymous oven to set itself apart from the rest of the bunch, and visitors to this part of Melbourne will surely not go home disappointed.
They’re easily reached too: take the train out from Melbourne city to Batman station and then wander down Gaffney Street. When you arrive, the menu offers the traditional two styles available in great Italian restaurants – red and white – with corresponding tomato and garlic bases. Throw in some of their myriad toppings and let the woodfire oven do its work for a superb meal at Heaven Woodfire Pizza.
