Hecho En Mexico - Fitzroy

We had a great time in Hecho en Mexico. We order nachos and lots of tacos. All were spectacular! The drinks were also amazing. Kudos to the staff for being helpful and providing warm service ❤️

Seating outside was noisy with the music loud, food was tasty but didn’t come at same times and as my friends, staff were friendly.

Fun Mexican restaurant with delicious food, super friendly staff and great atmosphere. If you're after Mexican food that has a little extra "something," Hecho en Mexico in Brunswick St is where you want to be - the fish tacos are sensational! Plenty of wait staff to help get you seated, beveraged up and fed within around 90 minutes, though it never felt like we were being rushed. It felt more like the staff were genuinely enjoying being at work and it showed through how attentive they were to all customers - something all to rare in a lot of restaurants! Love the decor, very colourful as a Mexican restaurant should be. Thanks for looking after us so well!

Food was excellent as always but the service leaved a little bit to be desired. We were greeted and sat promptly but waited at least 20mins before we managed to catch the attention of a server. When we finally got her attention her initial response was quite rude. She greeted us with a “what do you want!?” And I asked if we could please order. One of our mains was then delivered to the table next to us before the mistake was realised and a server rushed it back to the kitchen. My partner and I are both ex hospo and are generally tolerant of small mistakes, and understanding when it’s obvious that the restaurant is busy, however when I looked up at the counter/bar area and saw at least 3 servers standing around chatting while we were still waiting for our food order to be taken it was disappointing to say the least. We have dined in at Fitzroy a few times as well as ordered delivery and visited the Thornbury location as well. We love the food and the atmosphere but after tonight’s experience we won’t be in a hurry to rush back. I don’t like leaving negative feedback, but considering the kitchen does an excellent job, I felt that foh could use some work. The little choccy in honour of international women’s day was also very sweet.

$10 meals for locations birthday, was amazing value, staff were quick and friendly, Birria Tacos are always a winner!

Long wait time for food and usually the taste is really nice but yesterday everything seemed to be lacking something, drinks were great but very disappointed with the food being a regular at this chain.

We booked a table for seven and were seated outside in a tent, no atmosphere sitting right next to a road in a tent, waitress did not explain that sparkling mineral water would be charged with $9 per bottle (most other restaurants these days offer it for free), two of the meals were super spicy despite asking for MILD, quesadilla was very small and not a fantastic choice. Drinks menu could be better. Overall ok but really not happy with being seated in a tent, especially when there was a large table unreserved available inside!!
