Hotel Steyne - Bistro

The breakfast was excellent as was the location however the tables (all of them) wobbled badly which made coffee spill. Not a major issue but just a couple of hours work with a spanner would do.

Chicken burger dry. Chicken parmigiana tasteless. Pizza over cooked. Calamari had no seasoning. Asked 4 staff to follow up on a drink order that took 45 minutes to arrive. Dinner was finished and we we were about to leave when the drink arrived.. will not be returning.

Booked a table for 14 and we had bar stools, on arrival half of the stools had been removed and we had no room from the surrounding tables to Evan sit down, food was not great but eatable was not a good location with the children at all

We attended with our family group. Some ordered from the bar, we ordered using QR code. Our meals came out so long after the rest of our companions had been served and finished their meals. The waiter delivered our entree to the wrong table and tried to do the same with our mains. Only redeeming feature was the food quality was very nice. Otherwise very frustrating.

Food was just warm, not hot. Could’ve been much better.

Ordered fish and chips but the fish was really dry and had absolutely no flavour. Tasted very old! Also the music was very loud for day time, could barely talk to each other. Also the chef was very rude to one of his staff when someone ordered before us and had a few food requests. The girl was upset and that wasn’t very nice to witness.

Great food and the manager at the time of our booking was extremely helpful.

Sadly, even though there seemed to be many wait staff working, our meals arrived cold. A waiter happily exchanged my cold chips for hot chips and another at our table had her steak, mash and beans returned for reheating. My burger was tasty but cold, my husbands pork was cold and unappealing and the remaining 3 meals were luke warm. The food was expensive. We will not be returning!

We were 12 and everything was AWSOME. We loved it!

staff accommodated our large group in the beach bistro very well. Staff were accommodating when I called to say we would be a bit late. It was a bit noisy and hard to talk though. Opening up a bar tab was easy to set up which we appreciated.

Great food and service was quick for a very busy day. We have eaten at several hotels in Sydney over the last couple of days and this was the best and reasonably priced.

Great service. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. Food was great.

Staff were friendly but the coffee refill was not drinkable, way too strong.

Overall, the service was good. The problem we had is the food was terrible and we let the staff know which all we got is sorry. We were only giving feedback. At this stage is very hard to say that will be back.

Our family had a good time dining with you. It was a little loud inside. But overall we still had a nice evening -- thank you.

Very loud on a Sunday ... music was just too loud for my liking. I could only hear people right next to or opposite me. But, food and service was great.

$56 eye fillet steak very disappointing, tasted microwaved and dry.

Party of 8, we reserved a week ahead and received confirmation only to arrive and find our table hadn't been reserved. We were able to get a table thankfully. Ordered via table barcode. Our meals all came at different times with 2 of us missing our meals entirely. After waiting 40 minutes after everyone else and lots of confusion we finally received our meals when everyone else had long finished and were ready to leave. The kitchen staff had nod idea what was happening and several other diners were in similar position. Extremely disappointing. Wouldn't bother revisiting or recommending. Plenty of other nicer places .

The management here were awesome, very helpful, and we had an awesome time. Beer selection was great and the margarita pizza gets 5 stars!

The young girl, Catarina? Was a wonderful help - she patiently took us through the booking process and gave us great seats which is why we were able to have such a great evening

Was very busy but service was good and quick suprisingly. Meal was vey nice.

I thought we were booking lunch upstairs but when we arrived it was empty and we eventually found our table downstairs. We were a group of 12 and they sat us at bar tables joined together. It was ok but kind of an awkward spot. I wouldn't come back for lunch but it would be ok for a casual drink.

Food came out at 3 separate times event though was put in as one order. meant our lunch went way over time and some had to leave early. Wrong order advise as snapper however it turned out to be the pan fried fish on the day. No follow up from wait staff even after several requests why the delay. Its coming.... I'll check...never followed up. Steaks were overcooked and not what was requested. Seafood platter for 2 was very light on and certainly not worth $120. Steak sandwich was drowned in mayonnaise. Extremely poor food value.

It was 97 for a large pizza, steak with beans and the kingfish entree. Probably on par with most up market bistros. It was really busy so the staff did well. Waiting time was ok. Drinks were easy to get. It was loud with people as there had been a large sporting event on, the place was buzzing.

There was too much food and it was generally wasted

The place was very loud with DJ music so you couldn't hear to talk to anyone at the table. Food was very average for the over the top prices. Eye fillet steak was $56 and was overcooked as we ordered medium and arrived without the sauce that was ordered. Calamari we wanted to order a main meal with chips and salad, they told us we had to order 2 x entrees ($48 total) plus sides of salad ($12) and a bowl of chips ($10). Calamari was tough and not fresh which you kinda expected being in Manly where fresh seafood would be available. We were also charged on top of the already overpriced food 15% surcharge which gave a total of $144 for 2 people!!! We have never been so disappointed in the quality and price of food in a Pub ever. I think you Need to come to Newcastle where we can show you some amazing places to eat at half the price and has consistent quality food. We wont be back and judging by the reviews either will alot of other people.

Obviously understaffed - breakfast was disorganised and service disconnected, my breakfast came out nearly 10 minutes after others, coffees were even latter. Won’t be returning to Steyne for breakfast.

we were late for a table by 15 minutes and it went to another group however, the table that we were finally next to were more than 30 minutes late and they still got their table. We understand it was incredibly busy however besides the fries, all our other dishes were not hot

It was a nice visit, but not one that I would rave about.

From the initial booking to the service and food everything was excellent. We haven’t eaten at The Steyne before but will definitely be back. We , the grand kids and our dogs had a great time . Thanks

Food and service great but music too loud for a dining experience

We ordered 5 meals 2 didn’t arrive. Followup up after 30 minutes they hadn’t ordered them. He staff member who took the order was not listening or seem o know what he was doing. The manager intervened order was taken paid for the meal they didn’t order everyone had eaten still waiting for 1 meal. Not busy not sure what as happening. All in all a disaster.
