I have been to all ms vys restaurants many times. Mermaid which was my favourite restaurant in the world - for 10 years. But this had none of the spirit of her restaurants in Hoi an and omg can you say overpriced - $16 for 4 spring rolls $32 for a curry that apparently as the waiter informed us no longer comes as the menu says but they 'haven't changed the menu'. The food was delicious but absolutely not worth the exorbitant price. Such a shame :-(
The Service was good, what we selected to eat was tasty and delicious, great atmosphere. Only thing i would recommend is not order the "roll your own barbecued pork with rice paper" you hardly get any pork and it's fiddle and messy. Overall nice place to eat but just a bit on the high price for what you revive to eat. Please note they charge $10 for corkage which they do not tell you until you get the bill.
Lovely atmosphere, very friendly service, unfortunately the two meals I chose weren't on the menu - very disappointing. Ended up having something I didn't really want.
We had great service and they were accommodating to small children! The Wonton Noodle soup and Coconut Prawns were quite delicious. Would recommend to anyone.
This place is divine! The amount of flavour they pack into their food is ridiculous. Clean and delicious. Highly recommend, Byo and friendly! I think I'm in love with them.. My favourite Vietnamese restaurant for sure.. ❤
Sensational food and terrific service. We really enjoyed our dinning experience at the House of Hoi An and recommend this restaurant as a must for lovers of fresh and vibrant Vietnamese food.
Authentic Vietnamese Fresh Food is what House of Hoi An prides itself on. It lived up to its reputation of Great Food, Attentive service, Bright yet relaxing ambience. Highly recommended.
Fantastic food and service. Everything was full of flavour, creative and well delivered. A welcome change from the usual pho/bun variety Vietnamese menu. Highly recommend.
Brilliant food. Brilliant customer service. Food is perfect just like flagship restaurant in Hoi An. I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
Granted, our visit was on a busy Saturday night, so we (group of three) understood that we could be overlooked, needing to almost stand up and wave to order drinks, and then food. We could have forgiven that it took 45 minutes for the first dish to arrive, and that other dishes were weirdly staggered in their arrival (a "Starter" arriving well after the "Main", and still waiting on a vegetable side-dish 90 minutes after we had arrived and after all the other dishes were finished). We are big enough to acknowledge that things sometimes don't run smoothly on a busy Saturday, and were bummed that the manager couldn't do the same. Maybe it is normal at House of Hoi An to wait and wait because our long waits weren't acknowledged, in fact, any queries we had were put back on us: "You ordered too much food" we were told when we asked if it were possible to cancel that veg dish at 10pm - being one of five tables left in the cleared-out restaurant and having finished mains. I don't mind paying more for food if the restaurant is able to add something, like service or an interesting drinks list, compared to lower-end Vietnamese restaurants in, say, Victoria Street, but on my visit House of Hoi An was underwhelming.
Very good, fresh Vietnamese food, more pricey than most, but the great atmosphere and attentive service make up for it. Fried crab wantons are a must!
Great food and staff. A very nice restaurant fit out too. Definitely recommend. I would really love to see more vegan dishes, that would be fantastic.
Hoi An is a local favorite and it never disappoints. The service is very friendly and the food delicious. Our favorite is the Tamarind Prawns and the Green Mango salad.
We went to the Morning Glory restaurant in Hoi An when we visited Vietnam years ago, so when we found out that The House of Hoi An was owned by the same woman, we had to go! It did not disappoint. From the gorgeous smiles that welcome you at the door to te incredible food that was created! I could not fault 1 thing about this place. We drove from Geelong and we would happily do it again and defiantly will! Thank you for an awesome night!
Exceptional food, seriously friendly service and a charming ambience. We can't wait to go back and try more of their tantalising dishes. The pomelo salad was especially delicious and very refreshing.
I highly recommend dining at House of Hoi An. Authentic Vietnamese food, it was as if I was back in Hoi An. Absolutely delicious and fresh food!
Great Restaurant with excellent waiting staff. We let them choose for us and they didnt disappoint. Every dish was fresh and tasty. Will be our favourite local from now on.
Authentic Vietnamese food, true to the region of Hoi an. Probably the best Vietnamese food I've had outside of Vietnam. Great service also. Will definitely return to this great restaurant.
The environment is good as is the food. However a bit over priced for size of serve. Service was efficient and food arrived at good intervals.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant - delicious food with the freshest ingredients and staff who are friendly and smile easily. We had the vegetarian rice paper roll, whole fried fish, mango and chicken salad and the sizzling chicken which was a new dish. Wonderful combination of flavours that were presented beautifully. It is our second time dining there and we will definitely be back.
Service was great and food very good, although not cheap. Parking a nightmare and would put me off going again. We did drive all the way from Berwick which unfortunately took us 1.5 hrs to get there mid week. But I would recommend it to anyone within walking distance.
Fantastic, authentic Vietnamese restaurant with great food together with good service and great ambiance makes this place definatley a neighbourhood gem, don't miss out on experiencing this place for yourself.
We were quite disappointed with our experience. We had visited Ms Vy's restaurants and cooking schools in Hoi An (which are superb) and were keen to try her Melbourne venture. Negatives: Several signature dishes were unavailable, with one even making it onto our bill at the end of the night. The prices are very expensive for the serving sizes. It's very noisy and parking is non-existent. Positives: The staff are friendly and the food we received was ok
The food was amazing, so fresh and delicious. The Prawns in Tamarind sauce are a must as well as Roll Your Own Barbecued Pork rolls and the Fried Wontons. Hope to be back soon to try the Sunday buffet!!!
Food was fresh. Menu innovative . Service was a big let down, being a Tuesday evening and restaurant half full . Worth a second visit
Great food as always. Classical Vietnamese food similar to what you actually get in Vietnam. Service is efficient and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual.
Good food and service, disappointing that they seemed to be out of a few dishes we wanted to try. Also the space was a bit cold for us
We had eaten here before and when friends returned from Vietnam we thought it ideal to take them. Food is so fresh and staff fabulous!
Excellent food in a pleasant environment. Probably the best Vietnamese food outside Vietnam. The only negative would be the volume of the music could be a little lower.
Lovely decor and friendly staff. More limited menu choice, but all dishes were delicious and beautifully presented - quality over quantity. Will definitely be back again!
Delicious, authentic and fresh food in a friendly and colourful setting. Good menu choices. Quick service. Well priced. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.
Heavenly!! Deeeliciously fresh and flavoursome dishes; we loved the salads and the shrimp & pork dumplings! The service was friendly and the decir was beautiful. We will definitely be back for more if this divine experience .
Amazingly brilliant dining experience. You could be sitting in Hoi An the food is so authentic. The staff are awesome. Cannot wait to get back for more :-)
Great food. Maybe a tad overpriced and some waitstaff seemed rather inexperienced, but overall service was good and the main man attentive. Would go again.
Its's great food, friendly and fairly efficient service. Good value for money. Some meals could do with a bit more kick in the spice/chilli area.
The best Vietnamese restuarant I have been to since I went to Hoi An. I would recommend, but you do need to book on their busy nights
The food was delicious. Quite fresh and reminded me of my experience at Mrs Vy's restaurants in Hoi An. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would certainly return again.
Delicious food - will def be back to try more dishes! The black pepper garlic pork belly and prawns were was great- loved the combo of flavours. Lovely atmosphere!
Amazing food we had the stuffed calamari was as delicious as the one we had at Miss Vy in Hoian. Only negative- service a little slow.
The food was different to what we were used to in Vietnamese food but was very tasty. Service and ambience was ok but for the price that we paid , which was maybe 3 times what we would normally pay for Vietnamese food, the standard of service and size of the servings combined with the venue was to be desired. Enjoyed our meal, beautifully prepared and presented, but don't think we would be going there again.
