Never disappoints! Excellent food and service. Owner and staff are always friendly and welcome. Price is slightly more expensive but atmosphere and food are worth it.

Am disappointed with the Aburi Salmon Toro which is now two thirds of what it used to be and the price has gone up from $12 to $14 now. I can understand that food costs has gone up but surely this is double dipping

Our place to go to for good Japanese food for my birthday

Decided to treat and introduce my friends to an enjoyable pre-birthday Japanese lunch. As usual, Shiro did not disappoint and quite a few of them said that they would be back with their family and spouses.

Had a lovely birthday dinner and it was enjoyed by all. However, disappointed by the pre-ordered salmon toro which seems to be shrinking in size and thickness,

Sitting outdoors that visit was quite uncomfortable as it turned out to be a fairly hot day and we ended up perspiring and hence did not enjoy our eating experience. Foodwise, the quality was quite good, albeit we did notice that the salmon toro aburi was a smaller serve despite the price increase.

As usual, the food was good and is our favourite goto place for Japanese food.

As explained later by Ochiro-san, better planning would have ensured availability of salmon, aubergine and hiramasa kingfish; which saw that entire sections of the menu weren't available on the night. Website also says BYO corkage is inbuilt into their menu, and yet we were still charged for it, even though we only brought tinned beers, we didn't ask for glasses or assistance for it to be poured/topped up; and took it all away at the end of the evening! Overall, a lovely experience and I wouldn't want to detract from the great food served .

Fresh quality food, serving is quite small, so big eaters will probably hv to order more 😉
