Tucked away little restaurant with amazing food! We loved the dining experience and will be back

Lovely restaurant close to home, been there several time, food always nice, service always lovely

Food and service was fabulous, band playing during dinner time made it impossible to talk.

Tasty our go to Italian place had the gnocchi this time!

A long wait to order and then a very long wait for the food to arrive. People that arrived approx 40mins after us got their food before us so I believe our order was lost. One of the pasta dishes was not the same as what was on the menu as they had run out of homemade pappardelle but we were not told. When it came out to the table with a completely different pasta I was first told that it was pappardelle and then told that it wasn’t and we should have been told when ordering. We were not offered a discount or to not pay for the pasta dish which surprised me as the reason it was such an expensive dish was because it was supposed to be homemade pasta. Instead we were offered one croissant to say sorry which I declined as I did not believe this compensated for the poor experience overall. I wish I had asked to not be charged the $38 for the homemade pappardelle.

I tried to change our booking from 6 to 7 people online but the system would not allow it so I had to ring the restaurant. Apart from that the experience was amazing.

Amazing hospitality and food. I have always felt I am visiting a friend, rather than a restaurant. Over a period that is what everyone at Il Desiderio has become. Just like their food, their warmth is such that there is always a room for another one!

Their pasta and pizza were the best in south east Melbourne! The service was prompt and the atmosphere was vibrant. I will definitely come back again.

We had the main calamari and pizza and both were very tasty. The calamari with a small side salad for the price, I felt was too small compared to other similar venues. The ingredients on the pizza were plentiful and fresh but a bit too thin resembling the thickness of mountain bread, but light and well cooked crust.

As usual, the experience was friendly, professional and the food was scrumptious! My husband and I feel a part of their family! The Truffle mushroom pizza is still my very favourite, thanks to Francesco's culinary skills! A big shout to Amir and Shima and anyone 'hiding' in the kitchen. The musicians put 'the cherry on top'!
