Indian food is always a popular choice among the foodies of Australia, and those that are Brisbane-based are no different. They enjoy a breadth of Indian restaurants that is as good as any around, and in the form of Indian Mehfil on Felix Street in the CBD – right by the Botanic Gardens, The Golden Triangle and St Stephen’s Cathedral – they have a curry house that offers superlative food, a friendly welcome (Mehfil means “get together” in Hindi) and a superb location right by the river. The menu at Indian Mehfil is a tour of all the best that Indian cuisine has to offer, from tandoori meats and starters to classic curries and house specialities. Take the train to Brisbane Central station – or the ferry to Eagle Street Pier Terminal – for an Indian meal to remember.
We loved this restaurant. The menu is very extensive and portions are decently sized with good pricing. The naan bread filled with nuts was our favourite side dish, we almost ordered it twice! The Indian ice creams are also a must try. The atmosphere is very nice and quiet, with dim lights and fancy music. There's no background noise like some restaurants. The best thing is the staff, welcoming from start to end. They are genuinely interested in your day and intrigued us with stories about their culture and parts of India that are good travel spots. They were also very helpful with meal selection and recommendations. They made our stay in Brisbane just that little bit better and we will definitely be returning when next in Brisbane.
Good food, good service. They ask how spicy the curry should be. everybody has their own taste but "medium" was spicy but not hot - just as it is supposed to be.
Great food. Fresh and not too much. Staff attentive and friendly. Our main waiter had AMAZING memory for our order. Pleasant ambience & reasonable prices.
