Adelaide’s Isaan Village Thai Restaurant is changing presumptions about Thai cuisine, focusing on the tastes and traditions of Thailand’s largely Lao-speaking northeast Isaan region alongside more familiar Thai favourites. This unique characteristic provides a fresh batch of delicious Thai dishes, which are done to perfection thanks to the lifelong passion and high-level experience (she cut her teeth at London’s award-winning Thailand Restaurant for 6 years) of head chef Waewta Yotakaree, an Isaan native. Located on Henley Beach Road in Torrensville, just in between Clifford and West streets, Isaan Village Thai Restaurant has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and it’s fully licensed so you can enjoy a glass of wine or two with your selection. Focus is clearly put towards using fresh ingredients of high quality, and the range of dishes displays Yotakaree’s depth of knowledge on traditional Thai techniques. It’s truly authentic, and it’s worth booking well ahead to avoid missing out.
It was a very casual restaurant, the service was very slow, there were a few tables and only 1 staff working (Sam) who was friendly. The food was delicious and I will go back for the food.
Amazing food. Ridiculously cheap. Fantastic service. You must order the chicken wings, the issan sausage, the friend banana and the noodles. Actually order everything it's delicious.
Food is really different from other Thai I am used to. In addition to spicy, it is more sour and less sweet. I like the Pennang curry, but it is still too hot for me.
