Delicious food! Good value for money, not too expensive for nice Japanese.

Nice atmosphere good service and nice food. Early sitting a bit noisy with children and babies but that's to be expected. Overall very good

The dishes that were meant to be hot were cold. The meat was tough. The food overall was a disappointment. I have been to the Isshin on Canterbury Road Vermont, food there far better so thought we would visit the Isshin Lilydale. I went there with two others and there were 6 other diners that night.

A great little/cosy (but spacious) eatery where the staff are super friendly and on top of their service, especially for an all you can eat set up where tables can be left to wait. Not here! Some of the dishes weren't cooked as brilliantly as Isshin Forest Hill, but I would still come back :)

Some of the food was lovely and quick service, but I told staff I had an onion allergy and asked if I ordered something with onion that she should tell me so I could order something else, or take the onion out, they didn’t understand, the first dish arrived with an onion sauce, the salad that had no onion in the menu arrived with onion in it. Needless to say I was sick when I got home. I’m glad I only have a mild allergy but it definitely spoils the night for me. We will not be back.

It was very busy. Not enough staff and we waited exceptionally long time for our food and drink. The waitresses were stressed and had too much to do. Then they called for last orders at 9 pm after only having been seated ( second sitting) at 7.45pm and we were not ready to finish. Overall the food was tasty but due to poor service, i will not be returning. Ever.

We have been regulars here for the past 5 years along with a number of our friends however since the menu has changed, the quality of the food has changed with it as well as the service. The quality of the food is no where near what it use to be so they are clearly have cut costs and using a cheaper crap products (eg. fried chicken had no taste & was dry, the spring rolls are all batter no veg, dumplings were cold and taste like they are from a frozen packet and the mushroom sause on the teppanyaki steak was disgusting, these are just a few examples). In the the 5 years we have all been going to this restaurant we have never had one piece of bad food, its been amazing but not anymore which is extremely disappointing. The service to be seated & to order is so slow as there are only 1 or 2 waitresses now whereas before there was many. The owners need to review there quality of food they are producing and change it back to the original suppliers as it was quality and tasted great. Now we all wont be going back.

We go to Isshin regularly but this last time was probably one of the best experiences we’ve had there! Everything was delicious as per usual, the service was fast and the waitresses are starting to remember our regular orders.

Hot food served on cold plates isn’t great. $5 corkage is excessive when we oped our own bottle and poured it

Good food, fairly priced, decent drinks selection. Place can get a little noisy but personally that adds to the atmosphere.

We come here all the time and always leave satisfied!
