We always get our favourites (gyoza, sashimi) but also try new dishes, this week it was the agedashi tofu - delicious with amazing sauce and mushrooms

Another good night at our fav restaurant in Perth - amazing food and good service. However, we are sad to hear that James Parker will be closing down in a few months time.

First time customer for James Parker, had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was great as it gives off a modern vibe of the restaurant. Food was great, except the aburi salmon sushi was a little underwhelming for a last dish to come out. The rest of the food was amazing. 4 types mushroom tempura was out of this world. Will come back next time to try the beef line.

Some of the food was ‘ok’ compared to other restaurants of same price level. Some of the food was below par. We’re used to dining at Japanese restaurants of that caliber, but overall, food-wise and atmosphere-wise, it was honestly below par. A bit disappointed actually as they marketed themselves as one of the top Japanese restaurants in Perth. If the prices were 2/3rds of what they charged, then I’d rate it higher. Their sashimi, nigiri AND rolls were not close to what’s served at aisuru for example.

We enjoyed most authentic and traditional Japanese cuisine. Everything is very good.

Surprisingly busy for a mid week evening with diners enjoying themselves with quality food. Service was exceptional even though it was a busy evening. Well done!

Another amazing dining experience at JP! This time we tried the 5x2 sashimi, unagi box and aburi wagyu sushi, as well as the grilled hokke - all so fresh and delicious :) The yuzu cheesecake was to die for! Our favourite dessert on the menu for sure!

Only complaint was that the table was incredibly sticky. Never had this problem any of the other times I have been there but even using the wet wipe to try wipe it outselves it was still a bit sticky.

Experience was below average compared to the other times I have dined at James Parker. My table was neglected the whole night (water/tea refilling) whilst other tables were attended to. When we asked for the dessert menu staff just pointed to a spare menu on another table and walked off. When settling the bill I had to call the waiter twice before being able to pay to leave.

We’ve eaten in top class Japanese restaurants all over the world and James Parker more than holds it’s own. The quality is exceptional and the flavours are exquisite. If you live in or visiting Perth you must visit JP.
