Superb food, great service and a nice vibe, can’t fault it! We had the ocean bowl and the duck special (both exceptional) and kids happy with pasta and ice cream. Win win all round!
Best restaurant I have been to in years. Great atmosphere; food was amazing; and the service outstanding. Such an unexpected find away from the city! Highly recommend and we will be back!
Delicious, reasonably-priced food with an appropriately sized kids' meal. My huaband and I shared some tapas plates and they were yummy. The atmosphere was really pleasant with the live musician and the staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back!
Has to be ine of my favourite places to eat out. Really great food, lovely atmosphere (especially on a nice day/evening when you can eat outside.
Fantastic food, drinks and service. Atmosphere was very good. All of the staff members were very friendly. Prices very reasonable. We will definitely eat here again.
Lovely to sit outside, very friendly staff, nice food but a tad expensive for what you get. Overall great place to eat or have a drink or two
Great service, amazing food with great flavours, had the lamb chops special x 2, steak and prawn linguine. Didn't realise live music was on and provided a great atmosphere. Definitely be back again, thanks for a lovely evening.
Good food great drinks, fun place to eat, service was very accomodating. We had a lovely summer evening. Would recommend to locals and to visitors
Great food and service! Two of us shared a few of the tapas plates. Special platter also looked fantastic. Will be back. Great Sunday lunch
Great venue for open air or under cover dining. Food is interesting and consistently good quality, generous in serving size and well priced. There is an excellent bar with a good and reasonably priced wine list, a selection of craft beers and cocktails. It does, however, tend to get pretty busy so best to book and also allow sufficient time for service.
Great menu, great food with a fantastic atmosphere. Good summer vibe venue. A must when visiting Thirroul. The linguine with prawns is a personal favourite
Always fresh and creative food. Recommend for casual fine dining and the drinks are great even the non alcoholic sangria. Never fails to delight all who dine here.
Food and bevvies were fantastic, and staff were really friendly, but food and service was really slow because they were understaffed. Otherwise would have rated a 5.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. It was very busy so the initial difficulty was getting service (we got lost in the crowd). However once we had gone to the bar and asked for service we could not fault it. All the staff are helpful and friendly and the food was great.
Food was good, atmosphere was good but we waited more than one hour for food to arrive and then it was mains and entrees had not appeared. Waitress was very apologetic and gave us a discount. We were under cover but much of the space is outdoors and when it started to rain the crowd rushed for cover causing some chaos.
Great food and great atmosphere. The service was very personal and welcoming. Menu is interesting with a good range of dishes to suit all tastes. Would definitely recommend it.
Good food with fresh ingredients and some flair, uncommon in this area. Popular for cocktails and evening drinks, but also for families earlier in the evening. The service was friendly, but slightly chaotic as it was very busy. Good to be able to book online. We will certainly be back.
Great food and location, service patchy (drinks and water slow) and table should have been cleared as we sat with dirty plates for 45 minutes.
Jose Jones is a proper bonza al fresco dining experience, just up the road from the main drag of Thirroul. Delicious tapas, daily specials, cold beer and some very tasty cocktails. It is busy through the summer, but worth the extra wait.
Food was nice and good value. The Seafood bowl was a favourite and very healthy. Service was friendly but rather disorganised with a wrong order and incorrect bill. Overall though a nice evening on the front terrace
Fantastic lunch, the oyster beef special was delicious, service was excellent, great cocktails and good wine list. Jose Jones is hard to beat. Yum all round.
Good food, gracious staff... all in all a top place to eat!! We ordered from both the printed menu as well the blackboard and it was wonderful. Congratulations to the staff.
Staff were really friendly, good variety on the menu. Service was very quick, especially as it was a busy night, food was great. We will be back!
food was great, probably need just a little bit more on plate to give the wow effect, not much more though, We went for lunch mainly to catch up with friends so the music was a little loud but otherwise great!
The Food was delicious nice big meals , drinks were yummy and tasty and service was great, fast and friendly faces. Price was very reasonable. Band on at the time was great atmosphere
Atmosphere and food was very good. Lunch service was friendly and laid back. Menu was different, particularly tapas items. Would recommend for a casual dining venue.
Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. A cool band was playing, Lovely place for a small gathering of friends on a summer afteroon or evening
We were greeted promptly and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. However when we tried to order drinks it took 4 attempts and 3 different staff members coming back to check and retake our order before our coffee was finally served, approx 25 mins after we ordered it. This was extremely frustrating. Rather than try and remember it I would have much preferred them to write the order down. Even after our order arrived a staff member came back and said the milkshake wouldn't be long and we hadn't even ordered a milkshake. The staff just didn't seem to be organised or lacked communication among themselves. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed our meals.
Food, service and atmosphere was all amazing!!! Such a nice place to sit in the sun on a Sunday afternoon, have something to eat and a drink.
atmosphere outside is good, everything else is average. Service is good and staff are friendly but not very attentive - no return to ask for extra drinks you have to get their attention. Food is okay - priced fairly for what you get. Definitely try to make sure you are seated outside.
Nice food, we had the vegetarian Budda bowl, and not a bad outdoor place to eat, though a bit noisy if the traffic is busy, the drinks selection was OK but rather limited styles on their draft craft beer range.
Beer choice was really good. Nice to know you can get awesome craft beer including locally made on tap to enjoy. I’d like to see an equally awesome local cider on tap to match! Waitresses were attentive, helpful and very lovely. Food tasty. Outside area has a great feel and i’d Book out there if you can. Back area has a tv with some awesome surfing footage.
The meal was as good as any lunch time meal as I have had in Australia. The staff were happy and very helpfull and we had a most enjoyable experience, thanks
Great food, great service, love a good local eatery, like Newtown In Thirroul 👍 woulf like to try it for dinner and drinks next time.
The restaurant is doing everything right to attract people to their location and are evolving their menu and themes to keep it refreshing. It’s great to see them supporting live music as it adds great atmosphere and buzz to the outdoor dinning experience.
Gorgeous venue , great food , fabulous staff!!! Must try the Buddha bowl - desserts to die for . Wine & beer list that does not leave you wanting
Great food & service as always. We were there for their Wed street food night and every meal looked amazing. José Jones is a fantastic local venue
Nice ambience, cocktails were great but the pasta had too many flavours and the donut dessert was different from the menu and tasted slightly stale. Overall a little disappointing but would go back to try something different.
The décor was nice, seats somewhat comfortable and the service satisfactory. Out of six people at our table only one thought his meal could have been fresher. We were all happy with the cost of our meals. We would visit the restaurant again.
Fabulous night eating beautiful food in a great location. We had friends visiting from the UK and they really enjoyed everything about Jose Jones. The staff were wonderful too!
