At Kerasma Souvlaki Merchant, it’s all about food on skewers. Inspired by the Greek and Cypriot kitchen, the cuisine on offer at this popular local restaurant is fresh and bursting with flavour. The restaurant itself is comfortable and stylish, with friendly service and a lot of pizzazz. Diners can choose from a wide range of meats including octopus, lamb, chicken, prawns, halloumi, the fish of the day, liver, tongue, quail, and an array of vegetables including mushrooms and eggplant. There’s other options too, including the ofto kleftiko, succulent slow-roasted spiced lamb with lemon potatoes and tzatziki. Kerasma Souvlaki Merchant can be found along King Street, right in the heart of Sydney’s Newtown. Owing to the restaurant’s popularity, it’s a good idea to book in advance!
The staff were very friendly and the food was good, especially the haloumi. All in, a very good experience and we really enjoyed our dinner there.
Great food! Service needs to be improved. Waiters need to be are well intentioned but need to be more attentive and responsive. I will intend to go again!
Service was pleasant, restaurant is cosy but much smaller than it appears online. The food was disappointing. The meat was only a small serving accompanied by a basic salad and a minimum amount of zaiki. There was more bread on my plate than anything else.
