The Ponds Shopping Centre, at the corner of Ponds Boulevard and Riverbank Drive, hasn’t been open all that long, but word has already spread well beyond The Ponds on one of their tenants, Khanna Khazana Indian Restaurant. It’s about as far from shopping mall food-court dining as you could imagine – the design is modern and chic, spacious and filled with plenty of light, and the food on offer is of a quality and diversity uncommon among Sydney’s Indian restaurants. The menu is curated by chef Kuusiral Rana, who cooked in some of India’s top 5-star hotels, and it features regional and signature specialties that broaden the scope of Indian dining. The range of dishes is vast, but a good place to start is with Khanna Khazana’s delicious dosa or tantalising thali plates that let you sample a few different tastes, while their fresh palak patta chaat (lightly battered spinach leaves sprinkled with roasted cumin, black salt and topped with tamarind-infused yoghurt) offer something new.
Enjoyed a wonderful banquet, food was lovely and staff so helpful. This is our second visit, happy to return again and recommend. Great restaurant, great food, great staff.
