My meal was cold to start with but they were very nice and heated it for me.

It has been a while since our last visit. This time, it is the worst situation we believe they have had significant changes in staffing, resulting in many tables being a mess with orders. Our drinks did not arrive after we finished most of our dishes, and what was shocking was that the last dish, which we thought they had forgotten, actually came 4 minutes before we went to pay our bills.

Food is always so good here and such a reasonable price

Busy night however we had to wait a long while to place our orders- those having the banquet had the meals brought out ad hoc & had to ask constantly for Rice, table water & other drinks. Overall good good, service not do good.

My reservation at KL Bunga Raya was for Thur 17 April in my name for 6pm for three people. Upon arrival, I had to walk all the way towards the back of the restaurant where the cash register counter is located up three steps to let let the staff know that I had a reservation. As I was walking, there were two staff members who stood and stared at me. One lady in particular who had a plump face lady was behind the counter and this was her spot for most of the evening dealing with customers and taking payment. She walked out from behind the counter, stood at the top of the steps and stared at me in a very unwelcoming manner as if to suggest that I should not be in the restaurant. The other staff member walked towards me very hesitantly. She never said hello or offered any form of greeting. She just looked at me as if to wonder what I was doing in the restaurant. I said that I have a reservation for three people in my name and that's when I noticed that my other two guests were already seated at the table nearest to the stairs leading up to the cash register counter. It was clear to me that KL Bunga Raya is not welcoming to people of colour. This was a shock to me coming from two Asian (Chinese) staff in a Malaysian restaurant. Malaysia is a multicultural country primarily populated by Malays, Asian (Chinese) and Indians. I was very well dressed by the way and I noticed there were other diners who wore shorts and flip flops but they were white and therefore were welcomed unlike the way I was treated. My two guests were also white and very well dressed. I was the only person of colour on the restaurant. While the food was good the way I was treated when I walked in the restaurant completely ruined my dining experience.

A great place for authentic malaysian food, located not far from Victoria Market. Staff were friendly, and menu quite varied and reasonably priced. Food took a long time to be served, but when it arrived, was tasty and reasonably portioned. Would visit again!

After not visiting for a while, we recently returned to KL Bunga Raya Malaysia and noticed a few changes. Some of the staff have changed, and the new servers seem to pay less attention to the patrons compared to before. Yesterday was the last day they offered their previous prices before a price increase on August 1, so the restaurant was quite busy. Unfortunately, this made the experience a bit noisy and less pleasant than we remember. This time, we ordered the King Prawn Laksa Noodles, Prawn Soup Noodle, and Mongolia Beef. The first two dishes were enjoyable, with rich flavors and generous portions of prawns. However, the Mongolia Beef didn’t quite meet our expectations, lacking the depth of flavor we had hoped for. Overall, while the experience was a bit mixed this time, KL Bunga Raya Malaysia still offers generally good food. We hope that with the price increase, there will be improvements in service and ambiance in the future.
