More about the restaurant: Lavana Restaurant
Right by the water in Walsh Bay, one of the most buzzing areas of Sydney, Lavana Restaurant is a tapas treat to behold. This is an excellently located restaurant – right on Hickson Road in Dawes Point – and seeing as it’s right opposite the Sydney Theatre Company, Lavana Restaurant makes the perfect pre or post-theatre grazing spot. The tapas menu is curious and moorish, but there’s also an additional mains menu if small plates and sharing isn’t quite your style. And, of course – as you would expect from any top draw Spanish restaurant – the wine list is long. We love Lavana.

Thinking about making a Lavana Restaurant booking?
Sydney is not short of culinary choice, but if you’re around Dawes Point, Walsh Bay or you just fancy some Spanish cuisine that is going to put rather a large smile on your face, then Lavana Restaurant is where you need to be. It’s a fantastic little eatery nestled on Hickson Road with plenty of outdoor seating for diners to soak up the atmosphere. The pre-theatre atmosphere, that is, as Lavana is right opposite the Sydney Theatre Company and thus popular among hungry theatre goers. Service is always warm and comes with knowledge and flair. At this gem of Dawes Point you will be made to feel most welcome.
Highlights of the excellent Spanish tapas menu include the lamb ribs marinated in wild honey, thyme and fresh chilli, as well as the seared scallops with pomegranate and the grilled baby octopus. If that sounds a little too meaty, the oven baked feta and grilled figs are as dreamy as they sound. To highlight any one dish on the menu of larger mains is tough because the whole thing radiates quality, but just for you, the lobster ravioli in special sauce is a winner. Complement any of this with one of Lavana’s fine wines – there are some from international vineyards as well as some closer to home – and you’re going to be seriously impressed. Reserve a table now and enjoy some of the best Spanish cuisine in Sydney.
