Mae have very tasty food, friendly staff, lovely and atmosphere

We get together about 4 times a year and came across Mae after we had had a very disappointing lunch at a restaurant further down the road. We are committed to meeting at Mae as the food is very interesting and enjoyable, and there is plenty of room between guests. We had a great meal and lots of conversation - we highly recommend Mae to everybody.

Kids in one area, which is fine. We moved to the back as one of us is deaf! Lovely, lovely staff. Please congratulate them.

Food & service were very good but the room was chilly on a cold day.

I found this online as it was halfway between the two of us dining so wasn't sure what to expect. I was genuinely impressed by the steak—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The eggs, half tomato and hash brown, however, didn’t quite match the same level; they felt a little under-seasoned and could’ve used a sauce or seasoning boost to bring them to life. The real standout was the service—friendly, attentive, and absolutely impeccable. It made the experience feel welcoming and relaxed. We would’ve loved to linger a bit longer, but unfortunately they were closing up by 2:30pm, which cut things short and was a slight letdown. Overall, a lovely spot with great hospitality and steak worth returning for.

Staff amazing, friendly, efficient, precise. Ambiance relaxing, quiet & comfy. Food delicious and different. Hot & just enough to eat. Definitely recommend & will be back. Also reasonably priced.
