The Malvern Hotel Restaurant

This hotel is definitely above the standard in Melbourne. The menu is restaurant dining as is the service. It has a unique style that is cosy, friendly and elegant. It is definitely not a chain or franchise experience.

Great staff and value for money. And clean rest rooms

The bread was excellent but butter hard , Staeks were cooked really well but Yearling was dry and sauces , bruschetta and oysters kilpatric were just Ok . Calamari salad had shaved Parmesan which was odd . Lovley staff .

Went for lunch the food was good as was the service. Reasonably priced.

I really loved the barramundi dish I ate yesterday for lunch. Was one of the specials. The fish was sitting in the most delicious kind of broth. Would love to eat it again.

Food was as always great. The service was not so. It wasn’t even that busy.

The ambience is welcoming. The staff are efficient, professional and friendly. The quality of food is consistent and very delicious. My favourite is the calamari on salad with a side of crispy shoe string fries. Happy customer. Will be back! 👏🏼😀

Well set out great atmophere. Excellent service. A little on the prIcey side but excellent quality. Steaks were amazing. Noice level bearable.

We've been here before and you can always rely upon this place for pretty good food and service. It's not really really excellent but it is reliable. We'll be back.

The food as usual was superb. Ken moved us to an area where we could eat and hear ourselves talking. Thanks a million. As always I love this restaurant and will be back at a later date

Excellent food and service, felt like a high quality restaurant.

Is there a new chef? Probably the best meal we’ve had there so far. Parma was amazing, pasta was 10/10 and my son said the steak was one of the best he’d ever had.

Some dishes as good as ever. Other, new ones not up to scratch. The schnitzels were too thick and dry (and should be proper veal, not yearling), the fish of the day was in too soupy a sauce. Service efficient and polite.

We really liked the semi-private room for 10 people. The lamb shank main should have more than 1 shank. Will come back again.

Oh my goodness was that delicious! We went for the 5 pm happy hour and asked for a quiet corner. The room isnt cosy but the cocktail special at $10.00 made up for it! I’ll be baaaaaaack!

The Malvern Hotel is a cut above your average hotel. A streamline service with wonderful food and wait staff ensures we continue to come back time and time again.

Excellent service from all the staff and freshly cooked tasty food.

The food was way off the usual standard. Kids meals seemed smaller than usual. Seafood linguine was very light on the seafood. $55 Eye fillet was unevenly cooked and tough in parts. Side of chips was tiny. Asked for more chips and was told it would take a while. Not good enough.

Food is always gr8. Better than you would expect from your local.

The staff were efficient and friendly. The best calamari ever. We so loved revisiting our fav hotel.
