For a real Italian experience in Perth, head on over to Maruzzella Ristorante Pizzeria on Bennett Street. At this little East Perth restaurant they source all their ingredients straight from Italy to give diners the most authentic taste possible. From pizza and pasta to meat and seafood mains, you’ll find all the Italian classics on the menu, cooked just the way your Italian nonna would make, and all served up in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Start off with some calamari fritti or the polpette al sugo (homemade meatballs with melted cheese, Napoli sauce and toasted bread). Then, move on to a hearty pasta dish, some authentic Italian pizza, the fish of the day or the scaloppine pollo e funghi (chicken breast cooked in white wine with porcini mushrooms and a cherry tomato sauce). Buon Appetito!
The team behind Maruzzella Ristorante Pizzeria are passionate, that’s for sure. Passionate about high quality Italian food, passionate about giving their diners the best experience possible and passionate about sourcing all their produce and ingredients from people they trust. The food at Maruzzella is authentic, flavoursome and steeped in tradition – but, let’s put it this way: nonna would be very pleased to eat here. Located in the heart of East Perth, right by Wellington Square, Perth locals have been absolutely buzzing about this place since it opened in 2015.
These Italian connoisseurs certainly know a thing or two about how to whip up the best dishes in Perth, and they’re only going from strength to strength, as the years go by. To have a taste of everything, go for the antipasti plate with artisan cured meats, pecorino sardo, buffalo mozzarella and pickled vegetables to start, before sinking your teeth into the rustica pizza topped with prosciutto, tomato, mozzarella, rocket and shaved parmesan, or the chargrilled lamb chops with potatoes, eggplant croquettes and red wine jus. Oh, and all their meat is locally sourced in Perth by the Princi Butchers. You’ll find Maruzzella Ristorante Pizzeria in East Perth on the corner of Bennett and Goderich Streets. All we can say is, bring your appetite!
Amazing food and great place for gathering of friends and family for a good dinner. We are a party of 7 and all enjoyed it, thank you
Fantasticly authentic staff and menu. The patrons seemed to have flown straight from Italy to see WA’s only Napoli chef in the flesh and I can confirm: best pizza I’ve had since visiting Roma. Absolutely recommend the pasta too, so beautiful. Definitely downed the exquisite cocktails in record time and couldn’t miss out on a taste of their brilliant wine range!
Pizza was so good and tagliatelle pasta with lamb ragu was amazing - very generous portion and extremely delicious in flavour. Definitely worth trying this place and parking is very good.
The food was very nice every one was happy thank you for a great dinner lovely staff helped us out with a few items on the menu
Great food. We had the Rustica. I first loved this pizza because of the very nice crust; a slightly chewy open crumb and a good char. A really nicely balance pizza with the same base as the Margarita. The prosciutto and Mozz and arugula each stood out and played well together. The Insalata di polpo was very lightly grilled and I prefer a slightly longer sear, but the flavor and texture were great. The service was alternately friendly and attentive. The wine list is limited, but we found a red and a white that we liked.
The entrees are small enough for 1-2 people to share. We love the calamari fritti.. The pizzas were nice especially Rustica was delicious.I deducted a point due to the long wait for the doughnut and vanilla gelato. We waited for about 45 minutes and unfortunately the doughnuts were not fully cooked inside. Otherwise the chocolate pana cotta and tiramisu were nice although tiramisu was better value for the price. Come early if you want a quiet table. From 7pm, it gets very noisy and crowded.
Very nice, cozy setting, finding a car park was a bit of an adventure, but once we got in the restaurant we enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere of the place, however we found the choice of dishes a bit plain. I'm sure it goes along with the availability of imported produce. Pizza was really, really good, it didn't make me miss Italy at all. The benchmark, Margherita, passed our little test in full colours.
We enjoy our various meals and highly recommend . Pizza Diavola. Baby goat., spaghetti with clams, bruschetta desserts zrppole and tiramisu .food was authentic Italian from Italy . I last visited there Sept 2017. Attentive service . Will be going back. Left with a smile 👍
Small - Authentic Italian food & genuine Italian Beer & Wines. Not like most other "Italian" restaurants where the food & décor may be "Italian" - but the drinks are the same old boring brands available in any hotel or liquor store. Good service also.
Second time we've been here. Even more impressive than the first. Service was exceptional and they were willing to accommodate our requests for changes to the pizzas we ordered. Haven't tried the 5 grain base yet but the regular kind is the best around.
