Amazing food. Highly unusual and very tasty. The hospitality and service was outstanding. The decor and atmosphere of the place is creative and fun with great music in the background.

Poor service . Waited over 30 minutes to get our drinks and when it did arrive they were warm. Food tasty but waited over an hour to receive our order. Very slow and food very spicy even for a mild curry we were sweating

A terrific venue, with highly unusual modern Indian decor, very atmospheric and cosy. The food was also fantastic, my favourite was the deconstructed samosa. Service was very friendly and attentive.

The restaurant didn’t tell us that they close the kitchen at 2:45 ams close at 3pm and we booked a table for 9 people at 2:30. This is unacceptable for a big group!!

The place was very nice and quite unique, but the food was definitely not up to expectations, and so was the bill, Very high considering what we ate and food quality. Staff fiendly. But the food leaves so many doubts and question marks on REAL INDIAN CUISINE. We were expecting alot butttttt.....😥

We really enjoyed our meal at Masala Theory. The food was so interesting and fresh and tasty, very friendly service in a great space. Even Kingfisher beer on tap! Great place.

Amazing Neo Indian Food....amazing dishes like curry bombs and Bunny Chow. Staff was really good as well, good recommendations with excellent service. Overall great experience!

We had the vegetarian banquet for two people which was very tasty. This included lots of different dishes to try & share & we plenty of leftovers to bring home for lunch the next day

It was truly a lovely evening we had a Masala Theory. The food was awesome and the staff were very attentive and pleasant. We highly recommend it to anyone who has a taste for Indian Fusion cuisine or is simply curious to experience some delightful!

Great food, best Indian that I have ever had. Excellent service, they even ask if you are ready for your next course/ meal which allows for a better dining experience.

I love everything about this place right down to the beautiful little rice bowls, every detail has been thought through. Food is delicious and generous portions, the decor is fantastically bright and colourful and the waiter was helpful with recommendations. Go there soon!

Loved the lace and the people, wonderfully amusing murals. But. The food was sort of OK. One very good dish, the beetroot egg hopper, the rice as excellent the rest , the worst thing that could be said about restaurant food, mediocre. The fish in the fish string hooper wss very ordinary. Bad produce. Maybe we chose badly. But I think with a little care, and attention to detail they could pull it off and make MT taste as good as it looks.

Great food - fish curry and goat curry standouts. Seating can be touch and go - there is a long corridor that leads to the kitchen and bathrooms that is not the best place to sit. Ask for a table in the front of the restaurant when you book. Its also no longer BYO since last week. We brought wine and could not drink it.

A step above the usual suburban Indian Restaurant. A great selection of dishes was available with a touch of modernity. The wait staff were very helpful. We'll be going again!

Masala theory is a fantastic option for groups. The banquet gives you unlimited curry - yes that's right unlimited curry! The service is great and the ambiance is really cool. I am gluten and dairy free and they catered for me with my own options. Highly recommend!

We had the 2 persons banquet menu, which was great to try out a bit of everything on the menu. The decor of the restaurant is really well done with great murals. Staff were warm and attentive.

Amazing family owned and operated restaurant. The staff are all family members who are truly committed to creating a warm and friendly environment. Nothing is too much trouble. To top off the amazing service, the food was amazing!!! The most enjoyable meal I have had in a long time.

Amazing food! The best Indian food I have had do far in Australia! Don't really liked other places and prefer cooking at home! But Masala theory makes me want to Change my mind! Approve the place to get authentic Indian food as an Indian!

Cool place and really pleasant service. Nice contrast between the stylish interior and the unpretentious almost humble staff. Quite unique in Surry Hills. Food was very tasty and refreshingly different without being surprising. We had the $65 banquet which was maybe $10 too exy for what it was.

The interior is unique. The food is fantastic. We ordered two dishes - a goat curry and a brinjal dish. Both dishes were delicious. The portions were large. The service was excellent. Recommended!
