food quality dropped a lot. not much varieties for the price paid. drink super overpriced
Amazing selection of fresh seafood and great service from beginning to end! Highly recommend!
Amazing food. Amazing selection. If you love your seafood, you will love this love.
Service staff is good. Buffet with a good range, especially Seafood, however, not all of it was tasty. Lobster were overcooked. Food was not being replaced regularly, so a lot of times found empty trays. Not worth $120pp in my opinion. We went on a weekday and it still was pretty busy. No time limits, so recommend that you get in early.
This places is always amazing!! The quality of the food is so is outstanding!!
Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere, and the food was delicious! we will definitely return for a family gathering.
Great food, great service A bit pricey but a real treat
great selections of food, good quality foods & wine selections, kind staff members
Nice setup, Service was good and staff were great but For the price we paid $358 for 3 and the spread they provided, I personally reckon it’s overpriced… it’s used to be approx $95 per person. for the same spread… which was fair but not $117 (excl gst)….. I kinda regretted in the end to be honest…
Always a wonderful experience for dinner with friends and family
Beautiful restaurant and we really enjoyed our meal with a great view.
Had an anniversary dinner here, great customer service as always!
Wine extremely overpriced! Friendly staff, good variety of food. Favourite dish was the made-to-order Naan bread, so simple but so good! Window seat on the perimeter was lovely to have and am grateful we did not have a table in the centre of the restaurant; it’s bustling with everyone moving around to get their dinner every course. Desserts were surprisingly disappointing and that is normally my favourite part of any meal!
was good, could use more variety of food though. A Pizza station would be awesome
Due to covid restrictions, you can’t serve yourself. This would be fine if there were enough staff however the lines at each station were about a 15 minute wait per dish. The quality of the food has gone down hill too. I have been coming here for 15 years but sadly am unsure if I’ll be back after last nights experience.
Long queue, some of the waitress are not at the counter at all and had to wait way too long to get my food - might as well do table service. Food was so so... It was better 10 yrs ago. Service it was ok nothing fantastic...for that amount of money just go somewhere else
The kids meals weren't great, but kids dessert was very good.
Great atmosphere! Fresh seafood but hot pre-cooked food average and lovely staff
Excellent Food and excellent service. Great atmosphere also highly recommended
Beautiful place. Thanks for having us. Love the food & service :)
Amazing food, especially the sashimi and dessert bar. Must try their garlic and cheese naan, freshly made on the spot!! Quality buffet food and awesome service.
The service was excellent, however the carvary was terrible everything was dry we were unable to eat anything from the carvary. The drinks were way over the top exspensive $15 for a glass of house red was off putting. My husband and i was so looking forward to eating there but when 4 drinks cost $70 and half the meal we couldnt eat.. very disapointed
The Langham buffet dinner has little variety and seemingly less food compared to pre-Covid. It’s extremely disappointing that they increased the price to $139 per person on a Saturday night, yet there’s no sushi options and very scarce seafood. They’re extremely stingy with chefs mandating the sashimi and famous chocolate fountain area. Even dessert cake options have dramatically reduced in quality. I can’t believe they can justify charging so much money. It was my Dad’s 60th birthday and I was told they would bring out a celebratory cupcake but we never got it. The waitress kept forgetting to clear our plates and didn’t bring our drinks out until we asked several times. Terrible service. Definitely not coming back!
Food was extremely tasty, serenity was very good. The overall experience was just very relaxing and pleasing
The quality of the food and service was excellent with the exception of wine by the glass. The glasses did not have 150ml marked on them and I had to ask the waiter to measure to amount to insure I was getting the correct amount given the cheapest glass was $15.00.. I was also surprised that on a Sunday night there was a children's party attended by 10-12 children under the age 6. This was somewhat annoying. Secondly , the dress code at the venue for adults was none existent. I was not aware track suit bottoms and a T-shirt were common when dining in a 5 Star hotel dinning room. Also social distancing was ignored by many and often patrons used their hands to pick up food items from the buffet rather then using the cutlery provided. Finally and more
I didn't realize I hade mistakenly booked for 6.30am instead of 6.30pm, however they were still very friendly and gracious enough to let us dine in regardless of the mistake I had made. While the service was impeccable, I was a bit disappointed with the variety, there was not enough! I was expecting for more choices, however, the taste of food and service did make up for it. Especially loved the sashimi bar.. It wasn't a big lack of variety or a big deal, I personally would have preferred more choices and I'm heading back to dine again, so yeah, go try it! :)
An excellent dinner and friendly staff. Celebrated our wedding day which was today! Staff were so accommodating and wished us congratulations. Loved the experience and service. Thank you!
Always love going to the Langham!! Fabulous food, lovely setting.
Food quality was great… Table service has improved since I was previously there. Overall, satisfied customer.
Well it was for a birthday dinner. We got there on time and was taken to our table yet we did not get the table that I requested (by the window table). Starting off sitting was awkward and back breaking, table was too low and chairs were too high so you had to bend you back a lot plus it didn’t go well with trying to digest your food either. Food was pretty average compared to a few years ago when I went. I think for the price was a bit high for what they had on the buffet. Service was good. So overall it wasn’t the best night I had, just pretty average.
Great food and service . We have been to Melba buffet many times and we will always come back on special occasions 😊
Father’s Day @ Melba is always amazing! The food is spectacular
Great night, excellent food, very busy when we went. Staff very attentive but not obtrusive.
Great view, delicious food, friendly staff. Will definitely come back
great food and good selection available. plenty of food. u will get full.
Second time dining at Melba. First time was disappointed, this time was tempted by the mothers day buffet menu. Turned up for lunch, half the items listed on the menu on their website was not available. It was a special menu designed for mothers day, it had no disclosure that items may be subject to availability or change. Service was attentive, food was OK (nothing amazing), but just disappointed buffet was not as advertised.
The price was inflated for Mother’s Day yet it appeared to be a normal buffet. Some things such as seafood, salads and entrees were excellent ( cold food) and some hot dishes such as Indian food was also excellently Rogan Josh. The lamb I had was a bit fatty but the verde sauce was good. I didn’t see any veg to go with dish. The Yorkshire puddings were hard and tough. The desserts were good but their display was a bit cafeteria like. I was underwhelmed on the whole as no special attention was made to the buffet area. There was a row of odd glass cages with random stuff in them on display eg a half dead Peace Lilly plant and one cage was empty. No idea what this was supposed to be. It just looked like abandoned stuff used to create a divider in the serving area. Did not look like a five star hotel. We enjoyed it as it was a joint Mother’s Day and 21st birthday celebration. Definitely not the standard I was expecting of a five star hotel. Nowhere to enjoy a pre-dinner drink after an early arrival. Sent us to a bar on the Southbank where I was given a flower and a free glass of Prosecco. Nothing special in the restaurant for Mother’s Day. When checking out I noticed a strange and scruffy looking display for Mother’s Day. Quite ugly and I don’t know what it was supposed to be. The Maître D tried to overcharge the cost of valet parking so I made him check out their website. He just didn’t know. I don’t think I would go again which is a great shame. The Langham needs to pay special attention to ensure the standard of what is expected of a five star hotel is maintained. The place needs an urgent refurbishment for a start. However the one saving grace I feel is the friendliness of the staff serving us. There are varying differences in the quality of hot and cold dishes. Display style is lacking completely to make food look attractive and non-cafeteria like.
Lovely view and staff were friendly. Fresh seafood and lots of varieties. You can also bring seafood to wok section for a stir fry. Not so much veggies though not a big concern to me.
Though there was a variety of selection, some areas was poorly presented, specifically Indian selection not much variety there, I have requested a Garlic naan to be made and was not the best. Seafood was good, friendly and helpful staff members.
Staff were very accommodating when we asked if we could move tables to another location. Not only is it a pleasure to dine but the service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend
