We have been coming here every Friday for the last 3 years and my partner has been coming here even longer it’s absolutely amazing. Quick service amazing sangria friendly and happy staff and the food is very good quality. The location of this restaurant is amazing in the heart of Mooloolaba and the night life around is also very nice. Thanks so much to the new manager as well he always takes care of us. See you next Friday

It was a little disappointing since last time we went there The same meal was a lot smaller and more expensive, (I looked at my photos from then) And there wasn’t a lot of vibe there It was one of my favourite restaurants at one time. Unfortunately I didn’t feel it this time around

We’ve loved montezumas for over 20 years but I’m sad to say, this wasn’t a pleasant experience. I was surprised to be able to get a booking on a Friday night booking a few hours before our sitting but the reason why is because the menu has changed so much and the food is now just really bad. Maybe it was just a bad night but when we left it was still quite empty. I don’t see it lasting

Took a while for our order to be taken,with only one other table. Food was ok, not up to usual standard though. No tostado in montezumas delight and very little if any tomatillo sauce on con requardos prawn nachos. Otherwise was nice.

Mooloolaba Montezuma’s is a go to family celebration restaurant for lunch and dinner. Delicious meals, easy to find location and friendly staff. The spicy tacos were particularly tasty.😋

Con Reacaudo Garlic Prawn nacos is my go to choice. The corn chips were different, the prawns still had the tails on, there was minimal tomatillo sauce and the rice was raw. It was not prepared or cooked in the Montezuma way hence also making it taste different. It was my husband’s birthday and he even commented that it was different and not as enjoyable. Not sure what is happening at Montezuma’s Mooloolaba but it will be a while before we return. Don’t mess with tradition- that’s why we have loved Montezuma’s for 40 years from Burleigh Heads, to Taringa Brisbane to Mooloolaba.

The guy serving tonight was awesome. I didn't know quality customer service still existed. He was run off his feet but still connected with all of his customers and called me by my name! 10 out of 10!

They was only one front staff on Saturday 24th august 2024. And he was great! He took control of the restaurant and was so helpful and was a delight. The food was amazing as well ! We all left so full and happy!

Absolutely amazing as usual. Just had to wait 5 minutes after my meal came out till my husbands turned up. So mine was cold while waiting for his so we could eat together for my birthday. But other than that was yummy

The online ordering took out the interaction with our waitress and therefore our meals were completely disorganised. My husband was feed first, when he was 1/2 way through his meal my sons arrived. It looked nothing like the photo provided in the ordering app. For one the rice was not served separately as shown. Then the meat was incredibly dry and bland. He stated it had no flavour or spice. The server stated none of their meals were spicy and I wondered how a Mexican restaurant can serve non spicy food? Especially when it states jalapeño in the description. The whole experience left me feeling like I was not important. The restaurant was incredibly empty, unusual for Saturday night made me wonder if others have felt this way and are now staying away. I did notice another table also had this serving issue. The husband got his food and when he was almost finished his wife was served hers. This is disappointing as people come out to dinner for the experience not just to eat and being served separately is insane and so not worth the price you are paying. I have eaten at many fast food outlets that has online ordering from the table, instead of at the counter but all our food arrives at the same time. I feel this has diminished the Montezuma experience and it is now more like fast food and not worth the money we spent. Overall the flavour of the food last night was completely lacking for all dishes. We come often and there has definitely been a shift in how things are done, and not for the better. I left feeling somewhat used.

After being a regular customer for 24 years the way the recipes have changed and not to our liking the shredded Beef was like slop amd lost its salty seasoned flavour, the rice the rice was bland and the beans were not right. Why mess with what was tried and tested recipes that everyone enjoyed. The size of the meals are still good.

No table service anymore, just the QR code to order, trouble is you don't pay through the app so you get no confirmation of your order. We asked the waiter to check it but never heard back, only to then get the wrong meals twice, missing meals etc. Still, the restaurant Manager handled the situation really well after the initial problem

Barely any table service, have to order via QR Code, no personal waiter or waitress taking your order. No cutlery or napkins given, had to ask halfway through our meal. Been going to this restaurant for 30 years, it has gone right downhill. Overpriced and ordinary food. Sadly won’t be back now.

We were told we’d be in the way no matter where we sat with our infant in his pram. The meat in the taquitos and the steak for the fajitas was dry and very salty. We ordered 2 jalapeño margaritas from a waitress behind the bar. She asked us how hot from 1 to 5 and we said 3. Waited 20 minutes only to be told by another bar tender that we hadn’t ordered drinks - and that the other waitress behind the bar was asking us how hot we wanted our chilli sauce for the food.

No table service, “ they had nothing to write orders on”. I find for the prices, almost $30 per meal, being made to use an app and make my own order is just not on. Food bland, obviously the quality is severely compromised from our years of previous visits. Overpriced and underwhelming.

We haven’t been for a long while but when Jan was owner the food was better, the muncharchos number 14 and they had some lettuce on them and after Jan left it was still like that too . As well as you have gotten rid of the kids burritos which is not impressive at all because there are only certain things that certain kids eat and you got rid of it not impressed .

Placed our order for 2 when the restaurant was nearly empty. Meals took almost an hour to arrive and we're cold, almost chilled like they had been in a fridge. Sent them back for re cooking then came back hot but almost burnt, rice was rock hard. Meals were a bit bland in taste also. Definitely not there best effort. Below average considering the the prices have raised so much it is now cheaper to get a steak and veg from the tavern.

QR ordering didn’t work. Instructions about ordering not clearly given. Very inflexible with slight change to standard menu item. One meal arrived and was over half eaten before other three meals arrived. Beans with one dish served cold. Menus left on the table throughout dinner. Enchilada size smalller than previously eaten ones at this restaurant.
