Montezuma's - Taringa

Meat was a bit fatty. Had better there previously. Just ok tonight.

Welcomed by staff member. Staff were friendly and efficient. Meal was a little bland.this is Mexican guys heat it up a bit!!!! Each time I have been there lately the meal has been slightly different even though I order the same thing.

Food took a while to come out even though they weren’t busy. They had also run out of chili sauce so my meal was a bit bland without the extra chili kick.

Family favourite for weekend lunches. Always very busy at night.

When paying $18 for a beef nachos which was mostly beans not beef & maybe 20 chips on the plate then charged for more chips is disappointing. The side lettuce was wilted. Ordered stuff go do something else so forget so had to ask again & besides our two tables there was only 2-3 tables of guests so no excuse. Not good value for money.

Booked online and was required to wait for 15 minutes. After ordering the food it took them another 50 minutes to deliver it to the table. On top of that they have ran out of beans and requested us to swap the beans for rice. One of the main reason we went there for was for frijoles enchiladas and are quite disappointed with the whole saga. At the end they also double charged us for one of the drinks and got a refund upon questioning.

Montezuma’s is the best Mexican food I’ve had. Great menu and bar, so much better than any of the others.

Great food, such big portions, fab sangria, fast service but a bit of a wait for food.. worth the wait.

We have been visiting for 25 years and really enjoy the food and friendly atmosphere.

Ebur eats couriers took priority, possible not enough staff on as well.

Unfortunately, we had some issues. For Fathers Day & free desserts 4 all fathers, the restaurant seemed understaffed. Of course, anything free will attract the crowds, Mr Manager/Mr Owner. Although the kitchen was fairly fast (fast for us, but our extended family thought they were slow) - our 2nd waiter (a young man) tried to charge us for the free fathers desserts x 3. My sister had to get a refund. He undercharged us and we had to do a 2nd Chargé for a meal he left off. When we were leaving, he was checking us out with 2 x other parties, whilst other families were trying to get in and be seated. It was chaotic to say the least. Husband noticed that the outside of the restaurant looked tired and the decorations looked very old. He also said one of the bathroom taps was broken and the light over one of the men’s bathroom cubicles was not working. I noticed that the toilets looked old and dirty. The front of the bathroom doors were covered in filth. There were also no men/women pictures on the bathroom doors for those who could not read Spanish (Senor/Senorita). Our father could not understand what they meant and had to ask his son-in-law to tell him which one was the men’s!! The meals were nice - but not as well presented as our regular Montezuma’s. For example: the chicken Enchiladas, had lettace/salad on the side - however, the cook had put the salad on the plate before putting it in the oven to warm - when it was served, the lettuce was a big pile of wilted mess. He should have put the lettace/salad on the places just before they were served, not before placing them in the oven. Compared to our 5 star Albany Creek restaurant - Taringa was quite the disappointing delivery, especially for Father’s Day.

The food took forever to arrive (almost 1 hour) after seeing others who had arrived after us receive theirs. The meals were incomplete and the portion sizes continue to decrease.

One staff member really nice and trying her best. Two meals were missed and everyone else had almost finished by the time they arrived with no apology, this staff member was particularly sour. When the place is full it is very noisy and hard to hear what someone two seats away is saying. The food was hot and good.

Cannot go wrong with dinner at Montezuma’s! It’s always fantastic.

They were busy and new staff...mains took just on an hour...some incorrect charges on the bill. Food was good though.

Reserved a table requesting for the inside but table got taken by someone else which was a bit disappointed but then eventually got moved inside

It was quite busy but our server Liam was attentive and pleasant.
