Okami - Bendigo

Service is quick and food is nice. A great place to try various of Japanese food.

Food and service was good. We would order more items each time though. Some of our plates were given to the wrong table - the table next to us.

Food was amazing and the service was even better will definitely be coming back again

Friendly fast service All the food tastes amazing, so fresh and so much choice. My favorites are teriyaki beef, chicken karaage, fried rice and steamed veggies

Always a good experience until bill time.. just a bit too expensive for what you get.. more reasonably priced and they'd see me ( and mine ) much more often

Very busy, great food but the service was slow compared to other busy Okami’s. Friendly staff though.

Staff ratio seemed a bit off - too many people clearing dishes but not as many taking requests for dishes / drinks.

First time here and loved it. Staff were amazing and the food delicious. We will be back

Well I really liked this experience. The food was fresh and tasty. The staff were polite, happy and helpful.

Staff were run off their feet , however the meals and service was still 10/10 .

I am sorry that our change in numbers attending tonight was such a big issue for you. You made me feel rather uncomfortable for having updated the booking firstly and then secondly to have an additional guest with us. An hour after eating I am feeling rather queasy in the tummy as I'm not used to so much fried food. Large people be aware that there is very little room if your table is all adults. I don't see myself returning for another meal. The waiting staff were very good though.

Okami is my favourite go to for dinner. I have eaten at a lot of great places for dinner but nothing compares to Okami for great value for dollar.

Whenever I travel to Bendigo Okami is my go to restaurant as the food is amazing! Unfortunately this time I had a booked for two but just prior to our reservation when I was already seated my friend had to cancel due to family reason. Just as I was about to order I was told that to keep my seat it would cost near $70 because I was on my own. Absolutely ridiculous expectation and will not be returning any time soon.

It started off well but as the restaurant got busier we were left waiting and waiting. Waiters being flagged down and never came to our table. Only to be told “here is the bill, you have been here 2 hours” and we hadn’t been offered dessert. Food was beautiful, just needed more workers.

Based on reviews it seems like this place makes a habit of yelling at their customers. I have witnessed a person on the floor showing people to their table yell at customers and is extremely rude! There was an obvious misunderstanding at which table the group of people were supposed to seat and the customers/group were quick to apologise and move when they realised this. The person continued yelling at the customers even though they have apologised numerous times! I can see the elderly lady (part of the group) was terribly upset. As for the food, it's average to terrible. The food was nothing like those I had at a Melbourne Okami (great quality and tasty). The only good thing about this place were the person taking the order and those that delivered the food. They were professional and polite. I will not be going back to this place nor will I recommend it. The way I see it, Okami Bendigo is not a good representation of Japanese culture and food.
