We always have a lovely experience at Okami Bendigo. We were served very promptly and our food came out exceptionally quick. Every time we picked up the menu a server was at the table in seconds to take our next order. I definitely recommend booking an early dinner 5/5:30 as it isn’t extremely busy and you’re able to get this great fast service. As we were leaving around 7 the restaurant was packed which meant service couldn’t be as fast due to volume of people.

Lovely staff, prompt attendance despite being very busy. Always willing to have a chat and come back in a minute if they were busy at that moment (hands full etc). We will be going back for sure.

overall we enjoyed the experience. Only issue was how cramped we were in our seating. We prefer a bit more room between tables.

Food was fantastic as always, however the service was very poor tonight - not something we’d experienced before. Always had to ask to order and were left sitting for long periods of time with no one coming over to us.

Good food but service was a little slow...waited to order dessert but left without... worked out for the better as it was freezing outside.

The food was wonderful, service was great, when we got it. We were waiting a long time between orders and had to constantly ask/tell people to come over by getting up and getting someone and take our order. We were wanting to order another round of main food when there was a miscommunication between servers and they cleared our plates so we couldn’t order anymore when we still had appox 45 minutes to order. Overall the food was amazing and you could see the servers were under pressure (they were lovely when we got their attention) but unfortunately that made our experience come down.

Although the service was excellent considering how popular the place is, the quality of the food is poor. Sashimi was 2 small pieces of salmon, the rice in the sushi too sweet. Virtually no prawns in the gyoza. Shu Mai mostly breadcrumbs or similar. Agedashi tofu very good and ice cream ok. We prefer to pay more and get quality ingredients.

Friendly staff and super quick service .. the beef carpaccio is a must
