Okami – Mawson

Pretty ordinary. Possibly the worst sushi the family has ever had. As for the other dishes, while the portion sizes are large, the quality is low. You’re better off going to a proper Japanese restaurant. There was nothing authentic here. Service was excellent though.

Arrival of entrees very slow, then a great rush of food arriving before we needed to leave. My only comment. The experience was fantastic in every other way.

They were unlicensed which was disappointing as I would’ve really enjoyed a beer or sake with my meal. Apparently they are getting there lic soon.

Sashimi sushi platter and cooked prawn tasted good, but other meals were so so, and even no fresh. Miso soup just liked the water, IKA SPICY MISOYAKI got a medical flavor, and taiyaki was dry, not fresh baked. It’s a good experience, but we won’t recommend.

Orders didn’t come,some dishes were cold,raw salmon was disgusting smelt off,very poor quality food ,never going back.

The foods are so far so good not many choices though. The dishes were serve pretty fast except for the sashimi and sushi platter. Service is ok but probably need more staffs to take order, we've been waiting 10mins to get someone to take our order. No staff told us what time is last order, we only found out that when we wanted to order extra dessert which make us a bit disappointed.

Was a really good time and parking is pretty convenient.

Very packed for a late sitting on a Tuesday night. Long queues and long waiting times for service. The food was average to good between courses. Not the most comfortable of settings.

We really enjoyed our experience last night. The food was awesome and fresh. It's busy and the staff had their job cut out for them but they did well. The only thing is that they need to be mindful of, is that I noticed as lot of people who came after us were having their orders taken before us, but it was OK we just flagged wait staff and they were pleasant. There is a bit if a funky smell on entry, but to me it smelt like green tea, not sewage. The seating times are ample to enjoy their great offerings and feel satisfied. No idea why this place has had some negative reviews, I think they have an excellent product and concept for ACT and again the fresh sushi and sashimi are beautiful .

Enjoyed the visit, understand it is new and sorting out teething problems, we will go back

Really good value for money, they were really busy. However, we didn't get all the food we ordered, so they had to keep reordering it multiple times. Staff were lovely and attentive but it was annoying not knowing if your dish would arrive

The food was about average level. Service was quite good.

Great restaurant, All of the food we ordered was very nice. The only issue we found was our food would come at different stages, we would get food that we didn’t order and we ordered 4 drinks and only 2 came out. Waiting another 10 min to receive our other 2 drinks. Over all the food is very nice.

Thank you so much Okami team, service and food were great, however there was an annoying smell at the restaurant area, as sewage? please keep that under control so me can come over to eat more! blessings.

Great food and the servers were very professional and as fast as could be hoped for. I don't know whether adding wait staff is the answer seeing as there's a limit to how quickly the the food can be cooked. There was only one dish that didn't impress (teriyaki beef), but it was still good. That was well and truly offset by the squid salad that I took a gamble on. Overall, the food quality and flavour was of a high standard. We very much look forward to our next visit.

The food was cold, no ambience, dirty glasses lined the bar for entire second sitting, the place smelled like a dirty mop, paper tablecloths on rickety fold out camping tables. Actually felt like we were in a food hall at a shopping centre. Won’t be going back so very disappointed that such a restaurant has opened at Mawson. Bring back Olive!

It was a good dining experience. The food was great and very happy with the service. The only detractor for me was the unusual smell when you first enter the restaurant. Not sure what it was but it wasn’t very pleasant hopefully it is not there next time we attend. Otherwise very delighted with the overall experience.

Awesome menu and food, great service and value for money!

The food was good but it was cold and there was no liquor licence and it was only byo wine. We had gone out for a birthday celebration so it was a shame that my partner couldn’t have a beer.

Was very much looking forward to an authentic Japanese dining experience, however, this was far from it. We hardly got our moneys worth because we were hardly brought any of the food we ordered, in the 2 hour sitting we got the equivalent of one plate of food so it wasnt really all you can eat. The food that did come out was cold, and they forgot half of what we ordered. If we do go back, it wont be any time soon.

When you have booking slots broken down by 15 minute blocks, waiting 15 minutes outside in the cold doesn't sound very reasonable, but I'm aware the restaurant recently opened and is adjusting on the fly.

The food is good, except fried dish has oily taste. Waiting time between dish is very long. Best order your entire meal from beginning, second order will take long time, especially sashimi and sushi dish.

We received excellent service and delicious food. A fun place for a family meal.

Will 100% be back with family and friends. Thumbs up

Great value for money. Food is tasty however service could do better. The portion sizes were a little small but its all you can eat so it didn't bother me too much.
