Up in the northern Brisbane suburbs, there are plenty of places to eat, all bringing tastes from around the world to Queensland. Few can say that they bring the whole world to one menu, however, in quite the manner that Panama Jacks does. They offer a huge variety of multicultural dishes from their location inside the Bracken Ridge Tavern on Barrett Street in, well, Bracken Ridge. To start, there is Sichuan calamari, toasted Turkish loaf and Italian garlic breads, followed by Australian oysters – from Norfolk Bay in Tasmania – as well Atlantic salmon, Mexican pulled brisket and a huge array of American barbecue meats: beef short rib, bourbon-glazed pork ribs, braised lamb shanks and beef cheek, as well as sides like mac & cheese and candied yams. Take the trip up to Bracken Ridge and Panama Jacks for an Australian and international feed to remember – just make sure that you book a table in advance, lest they fill up.
I was sceptical as the reviews weren’t good. However, we were pleasantly surprised! The service was great, all staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. A very pleasant and enjoyable evening.
Plenty of off street parking Good family atmosphere. Good food, meat wise at least. In my opinion a little over priced for the style of venue ie pub restaurant
