it was a great meal. great staff. awesome atmosphere. will go back for sure
Service was friendly and efficient. Food was good pub standard.
Very good food didn’t have to wait long to get it thanks
Well organised venue. Food great, wait time was ok considering lots of people before PACC show.
Food was excellent and we didn't have to wait long, service was great too
We ordered at 5pm & food came quickly. I ordered the wrong meal for my husband, & they were quick to change the meal for us. I had the lamb shoulder , it was fantastic! We had only eaten at Rydges the Friday night before, it was expensive & nothing to rave about. I would prefer to eat at Pedens hands down! Great food & service! Thank you!
Great food and service . Staff were friendly and helpful
Pedens is our go to dinner venue before attending events at the neighbouring PACC. Many delicious options for me as I am Gluten intolerant.
Arrived at 5.55pm for a 6pm reservation. The queue to order was close to 20 deep. By the time we ordered was told there was at least a 40 minute delay to get our meal. Meal arrived 7.05pm. Had a show starting at 7.30pm next door at CPAC. Wished we hadn’t ordered desert as meal was eaten too fast. Quality of mains was excellent. Would not return to eat when attending a live show.
We arrived at 6.05pm and our meal was served at 7.15. It was not the staffs fault as there was a show on at 7.30 and it was very busy. Observing this, more staff in the kitchen may have helped ease the wait time. Unfortunately we only had time for 1 slice of our pizza which was delicious. Staff apologised and were helpful.
Had a great meal with minimum waiting time considering the pub was packed
Perfect it was everything was great thank you so much
Great lunch, all meals served together, all very nice. No complaints here.
Bruschetta, yum! Mexican chicken burgers, good! Service, great! Overall enjoyed our dining experience. We'll be back! And they have tartare for fish! (dislike aioli big time) Recommend.
Food and service was amazing as usual. Would highly recommend.
staff were great. It was a little different this time. normally it's flawless but some guests had their entrees and mains come out together which frustrated some of my guests. also others waited a while for their mains while others had completely finished there's. food was nice.
food was lovely we had crumbed steak and veg EXCEPT for the mashed potato was not good and looked terrible.
Item I wanted to order not available (pumpkin pasta). Coffee machine not ready at 5:45 pm. Otherwise the rest was good.
Nice food and the Music Bingo was fun as well !
We always love dining at Pedens. Great food, great service. Awesome! 😀❤️
The meal was just ok. The polenta was undercooked and the lamb drier than it should have been. One of the pork belly meals had a piece of pork belly which was 70% fat. We believe there were staff absent who were scheduled to work and the staff were under pressure, but remained very friendly and accommodating. The meals were about 40 mins arriving. The fact there was a show at PACC I'm sure exacerbated the pressure.
Happy with the service. Meal nice and reasonably priced. Thanks
Great service , food was delicious , we will be back to enjoy another meal soon 🤗
The service was good and and the food was good
Great. Everyone enjoyed the food. Thanks fir a nice afternoon
We did Thursday night dinner, quite busy, but not packed. Food was OK. My friend had to go 3rd choice cos first 2 were sold out. Her husband had to go 2nd choice, and my husband had to go 2nd choice. I had fish&chips which was ordinary compared to previous standards. Waitress was not engaging at all.
I visited Pedens with 3 other diners that had never been there. Everyone was very impressed with their meals, very happy all round.
The meal was lovely and staff were very attentive, great experience.
Parts of meals cold, wrong sauces supplied with the meals. Snitzels way overdone and too tough to cut - even with a steak knife.
great food , good service. a great local pub . would recommend
We usually have dinner there before attending a show at PACC and it's almost always a good experience. Occasionally it's very busy and waiting times are longer than we planned for, and the menu doesn't always have what we like but overall it's good.
Food was lovely. We had a table of 7 we all ordered at the same time with stating we were all on the same table number. One person was given there meal of egg plant snitzel after about 20 minutes then 15 minutes later we went to bistro to ask where the other meals were, told they were coming. 10 minutes later they arrived...2 pizzas which were delicious. I'm just not sure why they didn't come out at the same time?
My husband had a beef burger, it was fine. I had a caesar salad with chicken. The lettuce was limp, the chicken was very dry and there was too much cheap dressing. Very disappointing. Additionally, as I was driving (and our accommodation was along a bush-line dirt road, with wildlife hazards), I didn't want much alcohol. I requested a middy of Brookvale Union ginger beer, only to find that the smallest glass available was a schooner - far more than I wanted. So I had to leave half a glass of ginger beer behind as well. We were attending a performance at PACC, so the location was very convenient, but I would not return.
Thankyou so much for a wonderful well organised dinner out last night before the 🎭 theatre. Food was great value , quick friendly service, we had our meals within 15 minutes giving us time to relax and enjoy a few drinks as well. Excellent service 🥳
Had dinner before the show next door great food great service
First 2 dishes we ordered weren’t available so out of 3 pasta dishes on menu 2 weren’t available that’s what we booked there for the pasta is good and the schnitzel that we ended up ordering was just warm and soggy.
Quick lunch after the footy. Lovely staff food & venue
great atmosphere. good food and wonderful staff. . best snitty in town.
We visit Cessnock regularly from Sydney & despite staying next to the Leagues club we often have dinner at Pedens so it's not our first visit, we visited 3wks ago but it was so busy that we had to eat in the sports bar hence why I chose to book this time (& it was relatively quiet in the bistro lols), we had the famous snitzel last visit which was delish & generous, I've previously splashed out on the pork belly & raved about how amazing it was so I had it again sat night, there's no longer the puree which was disappointing, there appeared to be more salad than previous which is always yum, sadly the pork itself which is usually the star wasn't as good as previous times either, the bottom was dry & the crackle was rubbery, I also didn't like the poached pear which was a new addition, so overall I did enjoy it but it wasn't worth the cost this time around & it's unlikely I'll order it again, I'll stick with the snitty! My partner had the special of bangers & mash which was great but we always prefer a few greens with it not just meat & potato (that said there are other pubs doing the same), in terms of atmosphere the pub wasn't busy but during our visit a big rowdy crowd came in, we noticed security direct a few of the group out soon after, very impressed with your security they are always on top of things, that's alot of detail I know but we are overall really happy with Pedens & we'll be back again soon!
Great dinner and great service and very good wine .
Best Snitty in town. Great food and wonderful staff. Will keep coming back.
its the best place to come for a nice meal and a cold drink. staff are amazing and the food brilliant.
We waited nearly 1hour to order ( there was an event on next door) The waitress was very rude . The food came out very late , and we were unable to eat our meals
Amazing food and Amazing staff. Pedan's will always be our pub .
Food was amazing and reasonably priced as well, overall good experience
Great visit. Hotel was spacious and super clean. Food was amazing. Will absolutely be back soon.
As a customer it is annoying when you order a meal and want to remove the vegetables and have chips and they say they'll have to ask the chef?? Why?? It is what I want to eat No steak knife was provided with meal so had to ask for it. Advised should have been given at time of ordering and I was no we did not get it. My partner ended up using his ordinary knife to cut his steak and about 15 minutes we get a steak knife. Battered fish and chips was OK
From chosing our wine, to enjoying dessert and coffee, it was a great wayfto spend a Saturday afternoon. The stafffwere helpful and friendly and the atmosphere and company made it a great place to be.
We Ordered Chilli Prawn and Crab Linguini and Beer Battered King Dory. Both Underwhelming for the money $56. The Linguini Came in a huge bowl with a small amount of linguini 4 Lovely King Prawns and 6 Cherry tomatoes!! Pathetic!! All the Places we've dined at serve twice the amount of pasta and 6 prawns for less money. The Fish turned up and it was Hoki not King Dory and we were told the menu had changed. The price had gone up as well. It appeared to be a huge piece of fish which turned out to be mostly batter with not even half a fillet of fish inside which was tasteless. The Chips weren't fresh either. We saw some lovely meals being served ours wasn't one of them. One person took his steak back as he'd ordered Rare and it was Cremated!! Why can't chefs understand what customers want it seems like it was all too hurried as there were so many people to Serve!! I have a photo of the Fish (Batter) but there's nowhere to add it.
Food was terrible, nothing tasted good. Had to send meals back 3 times because they were wrong
