Peden’s Hotel

Everyone who was going to CCPA were having lunch at the pub ;-)

After visiting today to have lunch before a show at MyPacc. Table for 2 booked for 12.30 i lined up for over half an hour. I understand it was a busy time with a show on next door at 2pm. There were a lot of people. Our food came out at 1.45 and had to be put in a takeaway box. We tried to eat something really quickly. The pizza really was warm and there was no fresh basil as advertised on the margherita pizza. My daughter ordered chicken schnitzel which came out luke warm. Unfortunately it was not a good experience along with others that were not able to eat before the show due to it taking so long. Again i understand it was a busy time but would assume that you would be prepared for a large booked lunch crowd prior to this.

We were very impressed with our meals and the time it took for them to get to table considering the amount of people in restaurant thankyou to kitchen staff and wait staff great team effort

Service was fantastic. I was disappointed in the pork belly.Last time it was served with baked pumpkin, not lettuce leaves, half a pear baked not spicy pear in a bowl and pork was not browned properly

We have dinner at Peden’s before going to CPAC always enjoying the food and service.

Garlic bread ordered for entree never arrived. Food okay ish.

The food was good thankyou but the poor waitress was rushed off her feet. Taking orders, and serving meals and cleaning tables - too much for one person on a busy night!!

Love this pub!! Staff are fantastic, food is great and love the little change ups every couple of months-we are from Wollombi Valley and hard to find something so great in our area!!! Thank you!!!

Great service. Good food. Even though they were very busy we didn’t have to wait too long for our meals to arrive. We will be back.

Waited an hour for food , then had to rush to eat it prior to show start.

Always love going to this wonderful pub! Great food (our favourite pizza) and always friendly and happy atmosphere.

I always enjoy going to Pedens for a meal, the staff are friendly, pleasant and the service is always great. My only criticism is that the ceasar salad was very salty.

Only issue was I ordered a rare steak and when I got it was at least medium. But other than that perfect.

The restaurant was lovely service very good the only thing is when I went to the bar there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. I assume it was in the gambling area. Just thought I would let you know.

Friendly service and good meals overall. Large selection on the menu to choose from.

Service okay; friendly staff. Schnitzel special good value at $15 but sadly both the meals were served with cold chips. Stuffed chicken breast said on the menu it was served with crispy chats, but came with boiled/steamed salad potatoes.

Friend dining with us ordered GF meal, which obviously wasn't as she was visiting the restroom all night. I felt so bad for her.

Friendly, service was very good and the meal excellent. Price was great.

Food was nice but all the meals came out separately. Everyone else had finished eating before the last guest even received their meal 👎🏻

We had a booking but our meals took over an hour to come out. Unfortunately we had tickets to a show at the CPA Theatre and once our meals cane out we had 5 mins to quickly have a bite to eat then pack them away in to take away boxes. I am grateful that we were given the take away boxes.

I brought some friends to have lunch here . It was very busy which seemed like a good sign . We waited over an hour for lunch . When it arrived the poor little salad has seen better days , the chips were good but both the lamb chops and the eggplant parmigiana were poorly cooked over fried and tasteless chops and rubbery eggplant . So disappointing. They were kind enough to acknowledge the poor quality of the food and refunded us in full . They also offered an alternative but we had run out of time . Coffee was quite nice . Fresh salad in a more generous quantity and treat the food with a lot more respect. We won’t be returning here

At 7.15pm we still hadn’t received our meal. We were attending a show at 7.30pm & we’re forced to leave before being able to have a meal. Therefore no dinner - unbelievable! A refund was given.

Loved the place and everything about it. The service was a 10, food was a 10, atmosphere was a 10. I will definately be back with friends and family

My wife and I chose from the show menu. The meal was fine but as a menu for those attending the Marcia Hines show, we thought that the meal would have arrived a bit quicker than what it did.

Had the eggplant parmigiana With veg and mash. Was lovely Staff nice and friendly too

The food was amazing The bar service was not as good, I feel the young man was new so excused it however he didn't even know what a shandy was or the lemon, lime,and bitters tasted just like water Been other times and loved everything so will be back

We love this place! We didn't have to wait long to be seated, order and until our food was ready. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Such a convenient place to eat before seeing a show at the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre. This was our second time eating there. Just make sure you book a table as they get really busy.

3 of the hour meals were really good. One meal was to not have pepper due to an allergy and it came out with pepper. Plus it was to be the fish of the day, the advertised fish wasn’t available & offered flathead fillets. These were not nice at all. Cheaper frozen fish sold for the same price. Not ok.

I ordered fish of the day ,for ,$38 expected it to be fresh it was very over cooked and dried out had no sauce ,a smeeg of pea puree , potato were not crispy as said ,,they were boiled and pan fried,my friend ordered chicken stuffed with bacon and cheese no bacon ,no sauce ,very dry, broccoli was over cooked and very little , potato not crispy ,very small meal for $30, this is the second time we have been and both times dissatisfied,last time ordered steak ,with veggies , carrots were so hard pretty much raw ,and mash potato was terrible it was packet mas it was stuggy and brown in colour,how hard is it to make mash ,when you pay good money at least expect fresh mash.

very dry shnitzel with a poor excuse for a salad. chips were good though Thevwrong Tacos were bought out twice, 3rd time the order was correct but very ordinary

Booked a table for Adults and Kids, we were seated on the booths which worked out great for the Kids and Babies to sit and play at the table. Meals were a generous size and options for Vegetarians and Vegans which was great.

Your staff are very friendly and professional. Both bistro area and bar staff. Maybe some additional changes to the menu....some soups? We always look forward to dining at Peden's.

Too long waiting in the queue and getting our meal, subsequently dinner was rushed ,inspite of leaving 2 hours before the show. Having said that the meal;pork belly was a standout. Compliments to the chef x
