River Kwai Thai and Burmese Restaurant

It was a full house on a Saturday night, yet the small, efficient team of wait staff did a wonderful job attending to everyone, and the kitchen served up meals relatively quickly. My wife was astonished by the quality of the food, so much so that we probably won't go anywhere else for Thai food in Melbourne from now on.

River Kwai is one of our favorite restaurants. We are always more than satisfied with the service and the food. Constantly amazed at the brilliant flavors that stay with us long after we finish our meal. Never disappointed. Always happy and satisfied.

DON'T BOTHER! We arrived at the restaurant right on time, they said that they didn't have our confirmed quandoo booking in their system? first red flag. After showing them my confirmed booking email, they said we could get a table but had to be out in an hour. we then quickly ordered. Our meals came out and the red curry smelt very wrong, kinda like poultry poo. we didn't eat it and explained it to the staff, they just took it away no offer of refund and didn't seem interested at all. Give this place a miss. Staff seem disinterested. Food was not right and whole experience was average. Much better Thai elsewhere.

Food and service never disappoints!! The atmosphere is great and I love their playlist they have! Such a lovely local restaurant :)
