There are Indian restaurants all over Australia, and indeed, it isn’t hard to find somewhere that’ll serve up a spicy curry at any time of the day. What Rook are offering out in Geelong, however, has very little to do with the standard kind of curry house. Instead they provide an entry point to Sri Lankan cuisine, with specialities from the former Ceylon fused with Australian classics – not a normal combination, we’ll grant you, but bear with us and we’ll explain why a trip to Rook Sri Lankan Fusion is always worth your while. They’re easily located on Malop Street in the very heart of Geelong city centre, and when you arrive you’ll be met with a menu of curries, of course, but also egg hoppers – fermented rice flour crepes, shaped into a bowl and filled with spicy sambal, dhal, chicken or fish – and proper Aussie breakfasts. They grind all their own spices (and sell them too, so you can take them home) making a trip to Rook even more memorable. Book a table now head in for a feed.
Amazing food and wonderful service. Really, really enjoyed our first visit to Rook. We will definitely be back. Up there with one of the yummiest meals I've had... so many flavours and textures. The banana leaf special with numeric rice, lamb, cashews, chilli and eggplant was divine!!!!!
I give this restaurant a 10 out of 6 because it was so excellent. I am a seasoned chef having worked and travelled around the world and found this a delicious. Customer service was excellent too. Thank you Rook.
