Shinwa Izakaya

Reasonable quality food apart from the Nasu Dengaku which was very disappointing. Ambience was slightly affected by waitresses running in the restaurant and talking to each other loudly.

Nice Japanese food. Love the sake. Can’t wait to dine there again.

Overall experience was good ,staff gave excellent service , the food was delicious ,the vibe and general atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely ,however it was spoiled by a group of 6 drunk and very loud obnoxious people . Myself and my partner could not hear each other talking to one another and it really spoiled our enjoyment of our night. I feel like these patrons should have been asked to leave or asked to be more quiet as they were loudly singing and shouting , it's a restaurant not a pub.

Good food and a very nice atmosphere. The menus were classy with a great selection of share foods so it’s great for a group! The cocktails were a little weak for their price, but the lychee cider was strong and delicious 😊 The buttons for service on the tables made it easy to call for a waitress/waiter and the food came out at a good pace. Lovely first night out since lockdown!

Very nice food however I do not think the restaurant followed the social distancing guidelines. Tables were very close together and it didn’t look like they made any extra effort for cleaning. Waiters would lean in very close to us too

Food was nice, especially the spicy raw tuna roll. The service was unfortunately too frantic. Understanding it is COVID, however, the staff were running around in a rush and were very distracting. We understand business is a bit different, but believe no one wants to add pressure to your business to have everything out in seconds. Thank you for being open.

Wonderful interesting Japanese food. The atmosphere was great, loved that sitting at floor level was made easy. Drinks service was a little lost in translation, but overall a great experience.

Sushi is absolutely beautiful. The sushi was fresh and super delicious.

We eat at Shinawatra regularly and the food is consistently good. We prefer to order our food in stages throughout the evening to have more control over when it is served as otherwise it can come all together or in an unexpected order. Ordering in stages also prevents over-ordering.

The food was lovely as always. We had udon noodle soup, several starters,, okonomiyaki (highly recommend this dish), futomaki roll and teriyaki salmon. All was delicious. Service was very quick.

The food is wonderful and the atmosphere in the front room is lovely. But! We were out in the back room, and having placed our order and then chatted for what we realised for about forty minutes before emerged food or a waitstaff materialised to ask them about it. They had not recorded:lost the order, and lost is too as we were out of sight ... we felt rushed to eat before the restaurant closed. There were kind apologies but nothing else. Again the staff were super nice but well you know ...

We’re family of 5 first time at this restaurant! Order so much food, expecting good food because the price wasn’t cheap! All the portions was tiny! Especially the STONE GRILLED PORK BRLLY from the main meal, we could really find 3 little pieces of pork(not even pork belly but thin slices of pork) and the rest of the on the plate was all chunks of cabbage!!! We notified the waitress and got ignored! The dish was $20 and all we got was CABBAGE! Honestly not even tasty! Was so dry! That was just example of 1 bad dish! The rest of the dishes was just as horrible! Not worth the money at all and the restaurant wasn’t even busy! Please train your staff to face and solve customer problems & train your chef how to cook! Or maybe management need to improve themselves because the quality of the food and service is unacceptable!

When I was there, the restaurant was really busy but I thought the service and the food was really good. For example when I entered, people greeted me straight away and guided me to a table, when we finished our bottle of water they gave us a new bottle within 10 seconds, which I thought was great.

Very good, but tuna Tataki was over cooked and way too much pepper seasoning on the outside. It was unbearable to eat

I love going to Shinwa. The sushi selection is varied and delicious. I especially love the spicy tuna roll. The restaurant has a dark upbeat ambience, and it quickly fills up on Saturday’s nights. I would recommend booking I fb youvplan to visit

Food was amazing but service was very slow, and staff kept forgetting orders.

We were a party of eight and were originally seated in the back section, however the heating did not reach there and we were a little cold. The staff were super helpful and moved us into the front section once there was a free table. The food was excellent and prompt and not badly priced if you are going to share a few things. Will be returning for sure, will just bring a jacket!

Food and staff are great, Shame it’s so cold in there! Had to wear my coat throughout the meal.
