Celebrated my birthday at Shyun today. It was a blessed birthday lunch at Shyun - fresh teriyaki fish and delicious creamy croquettes.

Totally enjoyed the decor and ambiance of the new premises. Food and service were fantastic as usual.

Loved the selections on the menu and that you could get smaller meals for one person at a reasonable price. Food was fresh and flavourful. Will be back.

90 mins slot is insufficient during rush hour for 7 people. Shrinkflation and increase in price plus limited time all contributed to a poor experience. Serving staff were very friendly but rushed off their feet.

Decent food, mains we got the wagyu don and the eel w rice it was overly sweet. We also got salmon nigiri which tasted alright, rice needed more vinegar. The prawn sushi roll also did not contain avocado which the photo showed. Price is also quite expensive for the food received. Overrated and wouldn’t come again.

We’ve been coming to Shyun for many years and have always loved it. Today was our first visit at the new location and we were incredibly disappointed. It’s so loud, it’s impossible to hear. The service was slow. The tap beer was warm. By 8.15pm they were asking for last orders as the kitchen was closing. The food was good, as always, but the dine in experience is not one I’d want to repeat. The old location was so much better.

New shop is beautiful. However service has become tight, you no longer receive wasabi or ginger with any of your dishes unless you specifically ask for it. Oysters have gotten a lot smaller, however will give the benefit of the doubt that it's due to the season. Prices are up, probably due to the new location. Value for money isn't quite what is used to be. However the food is still fresh and tastes great.
