About Solo Newtown
More about the restaurant: Solo Newtown
Solo Newtown Sydney is the result of two brothers having a great love for food and an affinity with their Indonesian birthplace, Surakarta (or Solo to locals). Situated on King Street in Newtown, this Asian eatery is a cafe by day while it becomes a sultry restaurant when the sun goes down. Brunch is a big deal here, so between 10am and 3pm every day you can look forward to tucking into dishes such as housemade potato hash with corned beef, coddled egg and hollandaise sauce or traditional Bakwan corn fritters with coddled egg, avocado, tomato, cucumber and mint salsa. Dinner features plates of all sizes suitable for sharing, enabling you to taste a wide spread of dishes on the menu washed down with a glass of carefully selected wine or an ice-cold Bintang. Book your table in advance and you won’t be disappointed!
