Squires Loft - Williamstown

Always fantastic, great steaks and great atmosphere at Squires Loft Williamstown.

The staff were very nice but the food was terrible. Very chewy steak. And I unfortunately I think the restaurant lacks any charm in its decor

We were pleasantly greeted and seated. Then it was downhill from there. There was a long wait time to take drink and then a longer wait for food. The place was full and there appeared to be lots of staff but no idea what they were doing. We had a spill on our table which was promptly cleared up but our hosts did not feel we need additional serviettes but gladly gave them to us when we asked. My daughter steak was blue she wanted medium rare. My husband’s steak was medium-rare, he wanted blue. We just switched steaks as we did not to make a scene as we had another family with us. Our hosts did not think to come past our table at all during the course of dinner and we had to flag someone down, if we wanted anything. Given, the prices, I expect the service to be more attentive. I real shame, as I frequent visit Squires Loft in down, usually business lunches and I love it. Not sure if it’s specifically Williamstown. I was also disappointed that they did not allow us to BYO one bottle of wine.

Overall the meal was good. The atmosphere was a bit lacking. The staff were attentive, but not very experienced.

I visited today with my retired parents for a birthday lunch. As a treat, I ordered the rib eye, to be cooked medium rare. It came out raw and very badly cooked. As my parents were paying for lunch with their hard earned pensioner dollars, I did not want to make a fuss in front of them at the restaurant that my very expensive meal was so awful. I am very disappointed to have taken my family to Squires Loft and wasted my parents money.

Love this place, so family friendly and great steaks and friendly service

Food was great, however the wait staff were not very attentive, could have easily had a dessert or another wine but no one appeared for least 30 mins when we had the dessert menu and the Greek salad appeared after our mains were taken away. Just seemed service let them down this night.

Seated next to a massive noisey disrespectful family who left a hell of mess. Very happy once they did leave. No further drinks were offered after our initial order. Sauces were mixed up on our plates. My plate was cleared without being asked. No dessert was offered so we left. Sat right in front of the window into the kitchen and watched the taller blonde haired dude quite happily watching a video on his phone leaning on the benches. Nice.

Difficult to find entrance !!!! Very long wait for meals to be served, then very disappointed as my chicken kebab was burnt/black !!! no staff person came to enquire if our meals were O K or if we required more drinks !!!!! Needless to say we will not be returning !!!!!!!!!!!

Great atmosphere, a variety of different seating (eg: lounges, bar stools, table for 2, tables for groups), a modern setting and unusual entrance.

A great night out with friends. The staff were very friendly and didn't mind having a laugh with us, the food was perfect like every other time I had been there. It is very loud so if you are planning a romantic evening I would think twice. Overall a good place and a unique setting.

I rang to confirm my reservation and requested a nice intimate table for 2 as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and to my surprise when we arrived we were given a complimentary glass of bubbly. The service was excellent as was the food and atmosphere. Highly recommend

Very loud person at the back of the restaurant could be heard through out the night, I'm sure the rest of the diners also didn't need to also hear their conversation. This was the only factor stopping top rating.

The service was not very good tonight, we are bit disappointed.

Good steaks except one of our tables steaks came medium rare not medium well done. No biggy.

Have dined here previously and had overall better food. Steaks were delivered less than rare and cold. The steak was taken away and cooked to the correct level and temperature and a free drink each offered. Rest of food was good. It was a special occasion, which was noted, but no special touches or efforts made. For the cost of such a restaurant, I expect a better outcome. Service was ok.

I got charged a jug of beer on our table which we did not order. It was taken off from our docket but realised when I arrived home that I also got charged for a small Greek salad which is supposed to be included in the meal. Other than that, the food was great and I know I'll come back again but be more vigilant when paying.
