Good service not compensating for very ordinary and fairly expensive food

The chairs are very uncomfortable (too hard). The restaurant needs a make-over, it looks like a cafe than a restaurant.

Crab was fresh and tasty. Staff friendly, happy to take our photo. Would definitely go again and again.

St James Crabhouse have moved to a new premise. A bit tricky to get to due to the roadworks along Kingsford Smith Drive. The food, however, did not disappoint. It was as good as I remembered. Will definitely return to dine here again!

Delicious crab and chicken ribs. A little concerning that the staff are not aware of the current Facebook specials, but ok in the end. Will come again.

Staff are so good.. friendly... and as repeat customers, remember who we were and treated us accordingly... made us feel so welcome at the new Hamilton location.. could not recommend it highly enough... oh yeah.. food was magical and cooked to perfection.. do yourself a favor... variety too.. for those that don't do shell fish.. like me..

Amazing food and great service! We had snow crab combo and st.James slow and onion rings. Their coleslaw was fresh and great . Snow crab was just perfect with butter and garlic sauce. Staffs were friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back soon!

St James Crabhouse has the most Amazing seafood and great service! We had the lobster combo and it was so delicious. We will definitely go back again soon.

They call themselves a crab house and they delivered! Some of the best seafood and crab I have ever had - it was melt in your mouth tasty. The waitress (who’s name i unfortunately didn’t get) was absolutely brilliant and attentive. Highly recommend

Absolutely love the food here, it was seriously delicious. We had the 1kg crab special with baltimore sauce, incredible! Great service and a good experience.

The food is good bu the service is horrible! We constantly had to ask the staff for things such as the drink and food we ordered. After entree they cleared one half of the table and not the rest before bringing out main where there was no room (we had to ask the staff again to removes plates and cups). Then they began to clear the table as some were still eating mains (again we had to ask staff not to take that plate which still had food on it because we were still eating). Then came time to pay the bill and for all the things we followed up with they had put it on the bill again - we told staff this wasn't an extra order it was the same one they never brought out and the response was... "maybe". Will I dine there again? Most likely not after last night's service!

Good, friendly service. Front of house, Walter always friendly and welcoming - mixes a good drink too! Food always of a high standard - if you're not a seafood lover, all the meat dishes rival and even better than at some of the better known rib joints! Do give it a go.

The food was good, but they mixed up the starters and only brought out half of the order of wings. They rectified it, but only in time for them to be brought out with the mains as well.

Great friendly atmosphere,good food and a most enjoyable time had. Well priced too. Although we live a 30 minute drive away, we will be back.

Went for a birthday lunch on a friend’s recommendation. Fish was well cooked and tasty. Alaskan crab cakes treated in a Thai style were delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. We’ll be back.

Food was excellent! Juicy, drippy, succulent and tasty. Beautiful wine also. Definitely have the spanner crab and mussels again. Needed finger bowls...lucky we could wash at the hand basin!

Amazing fresh seafood, we tried the snowcrab meadly, tender succulent beef ribs and yummy sides. Highly recommend. Its our 3rd time and each time its been delicious each time.

The menu was great with lots of different choices of crab and other American themed dishes - burger, ribs etc. I ordered blue swimmer crab with citrus buerre blanc. Generous serving of 2 crabs and oceans of sauce with a hot buttered roll to mop it up. Sides of fries and slaw were delicious. We struggled a bit with cracking our crabs and made an ugly mess of the table but that’s part of the joy of it I guess. I wondered why the food was served in a plastic bag??? Maybe to keep it warm?? Looked a bit off. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

The service was awesome. Food was awesome. Limited drinks menu. The girls working on the day were second to none. No option to tip when using eftpos is an issue when you haven’t cash. They deserved tipping.

Seafood was cooked beautifully..The Serlion Steak was quite small. Once we finished the meal it would have been nice to been offered a bowl of lemon water to wash our hands. Customer service ok

Fabulous sea food and crabs. Very friendly staff. Brownie cake in the hot pan with ice cream and fresh cream on the top! Highly recommend.

Very good! Tasty food. Been to crab houses in the US and this is by far the next best thing in Brisbane! Great to be able to get King crab leg in Australia!

Food was good, staff friendly and efficient. Came away feeling like we had a good night, not great overall good - food, service, atmosphere. But keep in mind we have been to the Kangaroo Point restaurant 3 times and know the food well and what to expect.

Delicious food, easy for find parking. Great service, highly recommended as a venue for friends / family gathering as lots of space Baby friendly too.

Staff was very friendly. Meal was little bit expensive than we expected. It was much better that Crab’s shell should be opened in kitchen. We can visit again if those issues are improved. Thank you, anyway.

Great lobster combo meal and the seafood chowder were delicious and not overly expensive. Service was good. They could have given us a bigger table and not right next to the other guests, given most of the other tables were vacant.

We had the mud crab combo. It was finger licking good!! The service was great and the staff were extremely friendly. I would definitely go back!

Good portions and prices with consistent service! Had a group of 9 and were well looked after with drinks coming out first and then mains with perfect timing. Recommended.
