Friendly staff, and the chicken was not dry. We got the $99 seafood deal as well, and left more than satisfied. We will defiantly be going back again. Soft drinks only 3 dollars which is rare to c these days

The service wasn’t as good since the move from Kangaroo Point. The wait staff seemed a bit inexperienced and weren’t very attentive. They were friendly though and the atmosphere was fine. I did feel like they were rushing us to leave at the end even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The food was nice but there seemed to be less crab in the bags than previously and the ratio of garlic/butter was inconsistent between my meal (lots of butter) and my friends’ meal (hardy any butter) so her meal was a bit dry and the crab a bit over cooked. Dessert was delicious.

Food was nice however service was not good. Had to wave someone down to get drinks and food order taken. The children’s meal took an hour to come out (came out with mains however we didn’t specify we wanted it to come then and had to ask twice how long it would be so would assume they could have started it straight away when asked as the child was getting quite irritable.

This is the second time we have visited St James at Hamilton. The seafood was quite tough and chewy as if it had been overcooked. The lobster combo dish was full of muscles which had mostly fallen out of the shells and they did not have a lot of flavour. The 2 crab halves did not have much meat in them and the shells were soft and hard to get the meat out. The prawns were very chewy. We were served immediately when we got there but as soon as our food was delivered no one came to see whether we wanted another drink or anything else. We weren't even asked if we would like to order dessert or any additional food. We were asked 'how it was' when paying for the meal and we said 'ok' to 2 people and they both said 'that's great'. Okay is not great!

Mussels were not debearded. The salad portion was absolutely miserable. Not an enjoyable experience.

Overpriced dish. Portion was too small. After spending $99 I still had to eat more at home. Mussels were too small and fishy. Lobster was dry and didn't have much flavour.

Fantastic crab in Singapore chilli sauce. Will definitely go back again as soon as I get back from overseas. The spanner crab was even nicer than the mud crab I had in a Singapore.

Underwhelming. Food was expensive. Didn't like that my $99 seafood combo was presented in a plastic bag in a bowl was seasoned with too much salt and overpowering garlic. Consisted mostly of mussels and crab legs. My daughter had fresh baguettes which were served buttered. Why? I don't know. She couldn't eat them. My husband's ribs were average. The restaurant looked like a takeaway shop. On the positive the staff were excellent.

The service was awesome and the place was nice and clean. However, the spanner crap in SG chilli we ordered was just okay. Couldnt have a big piece of meat, I could scoop small pieces by pieces. Maybe i should order a different menu. Anyway, the staff was very friendly.

Waiter was friendly on entering, but service or lack of, was average. We had to request to order and we’re not offered any further courses or coffees after mains. And we were the only lunchtime diners in the restaurant. Wine ordered wasnt available,but waiter poured a cheaper one without advising us, for which we requested a reduced price on payment. Our expectations of the food wasn’t met, tasty but average. Can’t say we will return or recommend.

Service was amazing - very personable and friendly! Loved the food with two sauces given to try, and drinks was great. Getting your hands (literally) into some beautifully cooked seafood. It is expensive so if you’re not looking at spending a lot on lunch or dinner this won’t be a place to go. In saying that, it’s a MUST try restaurant if you want to spoil yourself/ or others for any special event. Thoroughly enjoyed night! Thank you ☺️

Very friendly staff with great service. Good variety of foods to suit everyone. Foods were fresh with good size. Atmosphere was great, not noisy, not crowded. Reasonable price. Free parking available. Highly recommended for family occasion and friends gathering.
