This was a disappointing meal and after being there a week prior and loved the food there, we invited friends to join us for a meal and it was totally different. we found out that this week they were under a new management and when our friends asked for her money back after a very disappointing meal that she couldn't eat, we have stopped going there altogether. To think we heard so many great reviews about it before we went there the first time only to be totally destroyed in our last meal.
Awesome restaurant great atmosphere great music and great service and will be going back again and reckonmend it to anyone who loves there sea food and are looking for a great night out
Seafood Platter was awesome. Great food and great service and staff. This is the second time have been to this restaurant and it is awesome.
Excellent quality seafood! Had a great time and excellent value for money, we are certainly planning on going back again. We made the mistake of ordering extra side dishes, assuming the mains would not be filling - BIG mistake, we were very full and content...
Perfect location for a birthday celebration. On the deck, we felt like we were at Cabot Cove. The staff were very attentive and the food extremely fresh and beautifully presented. Will be returning - definately!
Tempest has a new menu. We had a beautiful meal. There was a bit of confusion with the bill; but the manager sorted it out.
Lovely sunny day and good to watch the boats nearby but I think the restaurant could do with a bit of a facelift. I've been several times over the past 5 years or so and feel the place could do with repainting and refurbishing. I would have liked to have had more choice on the lunch menu. Oysters natural were just that ... natural with no dressing at all which was disappointing . My husband and friend had a seafood platter which looked fine but not being a big seafood fan I chose fish and chips which was pretty ordinary. Not much atmosphere either as there was only one other table of customers that day. I won't be hurrying back.
Friendly staff but new menu that they didn't know in detail. Minimum order of 1kg required for fresh crab- this equates to 4 large crabs which is a huge serving for 1 person and no take away of excess allowed. Relatively expensive for standard type meals. No sure if we will go back.
We had a lovely meal seafood was really fresh & service was excellent especially our waitress Dinah who was fantastic. Would come again as had a brilliant lunch for our fathers 90th Birthday.
The service was terrible, no restaurant service etiquette what so ever displayed. Food was cooked and taste lovely, only concern was scallop was very small. Table decore was very miss match n more like cafe then evening dinner. I would not recommend this place to anyone or return. I advised the manager upon my departure who thank me for feedback but did know to compensate or discuss opt to return. One of the staff (older lady) was very apologetic for the way the night went.
The service was great, the food was terrific, the atmosphere and the restaurant were special and we all enjoyed a great dining experience and a fabulous night out.
Staff were courteous together with quality food & beverage made for a very successful family Mothers day🤗 Very happy to commend Tempest restaurant to all😀
Quality seafood, salads, roast meats and desserts. Prompt and professional service. Very good wine list with excellent choice of wines by the glass. A very happy mother on Mother's Day.
We really enjoyed the food, had the Tempest Platters they were amazing. The staff were lovely and made our little people very welcome which made the day more enjoyable.
Excellent food, good value for money. Will highly recommend and go again. Bright friendly staff, minimum waiting time. Dacor a bit dated but nine the less ok. Music live most welcomed.
Great food, service and venue, but the restaurant had not received my online reservation! Have eaten there many times and always had a good experience so recommend it highly
Fantastic night out. Leo and the staff were amazing and ensured we were well looked after. The freshest seafood I have had I a very long time and will be back. Trent does an amazing job behind the bar and we enjoyed talking with him.
A $235 seafood platter for two, should not have 1/4 of platter of chips and a 1/4 of platter of fruit covered in soy sauce, sandcrap and the 6 prawns were dry. Live in area so have been wanting to try restaurant, now we have won't be back won't recommend. Staff were nice.
Great food and a great all round experience. They looked after the kids well and made sure the adults weren't left behind either. We'll be back again.
Great location, excellent staff and Fantastic food, I had the hot shared entrée platter and Salmon for main cannot fault the food. took my children for birthday celebrations, definitely going back again to sample the rest of menu.
Unfortunately the menu online is out of date. Seafood was good but service not so. The side orders arrived after the main had been eaten. No none fish on the starters list and was told to eat bread instead. Otherwise lovely location, nice live music.
The cold seafood was fresh, good quality and well presented. Hot foods and salads were are fine addition, desert fruits deliciously crisp, sweets a treat.
We waited for an hour to receive our drinks. Our meals had come out as well which was disappointing as it was our anniversary dinner
Very disappointing. The food was overpriced and underwhelming. $5.50 for a glass of apple juice that tasted watered down. $11 for 4 triangles of herb bread with hardly any herbs and which didn't taste very nice. $32 for fish and chips where we only received one piece of fish and the fish itself was bland. It was supposed to be snapper but it didn't taste anything like the snapper I've eaten in the past. I couldn't even improve the taste with tartare sauce because the tartare sauce it was served with tasted disgusting. I asked for tomato sauce instead and by the time it finally arrived I had already finished my meal. The dessert wasn't much better (meringue with mango ice cream etc). The piece of mango fruit was bitter, the mango mouse was for decoration only (a couple spots on the plate), and the only nice thing on the plate (the mango ice cream) was a miserably small scoop that was half melted when it was placed in front of me. The only reason I rated this restaurant a two instead of a one was because the staff were friendly and helpful. My family and I will not be returning to Tempest.
Chrispy skin Barramundi was soggy, desert menu never came.... atmosphere was ok with good live music... entree was good, but for the price think money could have been invested better
Food was very good. Staff have no leadership or section management. Very poor service by untrained kids. Iam a hospitality manager. Such a great spot. Just needs a strong talented leader
Staff did not know menu, slow service , food was overcooked and over seasoned. The staff were rude when asked how long food would take. We will not be going back to Tempst.
The food and location were great and the staff were friendly and happy to help. My wife and I truely enjoyed our night. Well done.
The food was world class, the waitresses friendly and inviting, the bar staff were top notch. We were made to feel like part of the family by the barman who kept those cocktails coming. We certainly will be returning and very soon. Thank you Tempest!
We decided on Tempest Restaurant at Scarborough for our 51st Wedding Anniversary on the 20 November recently. We had known it previously as Morgan's. We had a lovely day for it, by the Marina with all the fishing boats moored, on a day with clear blue skies. The staff were courteous, helpful and informative. The meals were well prepared and really delicious. We ate too much, but it was our anniversary, so we made the most of it. Being Sunday lunch, the parking wasn't easy, but we managed nonetheless. Will definitely go to Tempest again. Regards Malcolm
We originally used vouchers for the seafood platter over the Christmas period as a gift from my son, the platters had so much food on them that 3 vouchers fed 6 adults and 2 children, and the food was delicious. As a result I then purchased 3 more vouchers for our own use. The first one we used a couple of weeks ago and it was OK,but not overwhelming, less seafood than was on the original (no bugs) and only one small qtr of crab, then we went again this week and there was less on the platter than before. We have one more voucher to use, so we are hopefull that the quality and quantity will echo our first impression of this lovely restaurant.
The meal was not worth what I paid for. I can get something similar cheaper closer to home. Waited over an hour for our meal.
Lovely food and lovely service. Loved the seafood restaurant. (Unsure of the teppenyaki side of the restaurant). Hope to revisit again for a special event.
What we were promised... Chilled: whole king prawns, natural oysters, blue swimmer crab, sushi rolls Hot: crumbed prawns, oysters mornay, tempura fish bites, squid, salon fillet, chips Sides: fruit, sauces What we got - Very disappointing. No sushi, no sauces (aioli or tartare) calamari was coated thick in pepper seasoning, tempura fish bites were mainly all cold batter and soggy! Chips over cooked and burnt... loved our meal July 2016...after tonight it will be a long time before I revisit
Fresh, flavoursome and fast. Slightly on the expensive side, but the staff were polite, helpful and accommodating. Best fish and chips that I've had in a long time - crumbed but not oily at all. Mains had good portions too - except the salmon dish, it legit only comes with one prawn! Overall, I would come again and would recommend. Make sure you book as they were quite busy.
It was a.lovely experience I would definitely go back again..the food was excellent and the service very.good..on such a hot day the breeze coming off the water have welcome relieved....
Fantastic location and fabulous fresh seafood in a relaxed environment. Service could not be faulted making for enjoyable experience. I will be returning to this restaurant.
Experience was very good, food nice, fresh service was also good, atmosphere on the water very pleasant, will certainly be going back there again. We used a scoopon voucher it was very good value.
Excellent food... could feel the tensed environment among staff which resulted in a not so good customer service. Overall i would again here for the fiod
Absolutely superb quality seafood, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, made it a top class experience. Great that they have both indoor and covered deck areas for dining.
I had the seafood platter for 2. The Crab was grainy so it was either over cooked or it had been frozen. The salt and pepper calamari was a too salty. The rest wasn't anything special so it was over priced. Also no Australian Pinot Noir, only one on the list and not available. Every time a staff member walked past we were asked how the food was even less than a minute after it was put down, at least 5 times during the meal so it was a bit much. Nice location but overall experience was underwhelming.
Clearly one of Brisbane's premier restaurants! A fresh, delicious and very comfortable dining experience, with friendly service and a great atmosphere (the open verandah is the best).
Food was excellent...service left a lot to be desired. Only offered drinks once, had to ask for finger bowls for the people eating fresh seafood.
Very relaxed atmosphere, unobtrusive service & excellent table, but the fish was quite disappointing as it appeared overcooked - a bit dry & a tad rubbery. And the chips were only average. Alternatively it may have been frozen rather than fresh - which for a restaurant with "Morgans" reputation I find strange.
Food was great, under staffed and slow service for drinks. This is second visit and the same happened on both occasions. We had entree and mains on both times.
The food was amazing and worth it but the service was very slow and they forgot to cook our mains and took 15mins to ask us for our first drink order
Great food, great service, great ambience, child friendly, good value and decent portion. Definitely come back when we are in town. Overall, great dinning experience.
The pianist was lovely. The food was nice however not quite up to my expectations and I would love to see some greenery to give the dining area a warm atmosphere. The staff were very good , friendly and efficient.
The staff were excellent , very friendly and helpful, the food was beautiful and arrived at a timely interval Overall a very satisfying experience and we shall return.
Celebrated my birthday at Tempest and the food was amazing. Beautifully cooked seafood and very well presented too. My husband's pork dish had the best crackling I've had in a long time. Definitely will go back there again!
