Possibly the cosiest Thai restaurant in town, Thai at Home is where Brisbane locals come when they want to have fun, relax and indulge in some seriously incredible Thai cuisine. From the restaurant’s comfortable location on Hawken Drive, they’re slinging out noodles, curries and stir-fries faster than you can say sawatdee. Pet-friendly and people-friendly, Thai at Home really does feel like a second home, complete with comfy pillows and framed pictures lining the walls. While all of the dishes at this St Lucia restaurant are delightful, the chef’s recommendations on the menu are where you’ll find the cream of the crop. including options such as the salt & pepper soft shell crab, the crispy whole fish with sweet chilli sauce, the red duck curry, Thai-style barbecue chicken and the street vendor-style crab fried rice, a street-food favourite that’s packed with fresh crab meat and crisp vegetables. In Thai resteuarants when we go in a group, we go for share arrangement and in terms of choice of dishes, we usually go long on entree and short on mains. This is because Thai entrees are delicious plus long entree (2 + items) gives time to relax and chat and spend longer time. On this occassion, for entree, we ordered Tom Yam soup (large), curry puff and fried coco-a-nut prawn. Thai at Home's Tom Yam is out of the world. Other two entrees were also great. For main, we ordered grandmother mussaman beef, chicken red curry and steamed rice. They were all very delicious. We were four of us and could not finish and costed us less than $100.0 A great value for money and an enjoyable place to visit any time.
Great food and fast friendly service. Good menu selection reasonably priced. Unlicensed but bottle shop within 50 metres. Would highly recommend. We were there for dinner.
