Good location, good service and very reasonably priced lunch! Thoroughly enjoyed a unhurried catch up lunch with an out of town friend for lunch. Very pleasant staff and atmosphere.

Food was briliant. However let it was down by terrible untrained staff with no menu knowledge and very unprofessional. Manager didnt want to deal with our complaint which was even more frustrating

I used to be a big fan of this place, but the service was very ordinary on my most recent visit. Too many tables squashed into the main dining room making the flow awkward. Food is good, but, there needs to be more options that are not all fried food options.

Wagyu Burgers were o.k but way overpriced & small , the frozen chips were dissapointing. The Risotto was dry & tasted only of peppper .

We were not that satisfied about the Cook house. There was too much back ground noise, the lamb was too fat, and the fish was overcooked.

Very disappointing meal. Had to wait 50mins for food after ordering only main courses, and the other tables seemed to have similar waits - not good enough for a Friday evening. Presumably a kitchen issue but no reason or apology given by floor staff, seemed to be no-one co-ordinating. Food itself was bland - mashed potato with saffron quite tasteless. Would not return.

A bit noisy unfortunately - Food is ok, big portion but nothing exceptional. It is still enjoyable for a school night to have dinner there

I love the atmosphere at The Cookhouse. The food is really nice. We had some tapas and got some of the 'large plates' to share. I especially loved the pulled lamb risotto!!

Fantastic location & food, will definitely be back. Besides the Tapas we had for entrée being too salty the rest of the meals were delicious.

Relaxed friendly service, interesting food, pleasant atmosphere. Very popular place in top location so book early. Great range of drinks and cocktails reduced during happy hour for both bar and restaurant.

A neighbourhood gem. Prices were reasonable. Kids eat free on weekends is a drawcard. Wait staff are not very knowledgeable when questioned on the menu.

steak was well over and staff were not very good. i think that the service could improve and the kitchen should know how to cook a steak if they offer it.

I have been to The Cookhouse a couple of times now and have never been disappointed. It has a relaced atmosphere with funky tunes. The food is great gastro pub style that is well cooked, not overcomplicated and delicious. The staff are friendly and they have the best Espresso Martinis in town!!!

I really liked the food and atmosphere/decor though the pork dish was a tad tough & the cuttlefish was a bit rubbery. The atmosphere was pleasant. The Barrumandi main was delicious. So were the jalapeños entree. The only main issue was the wait staff was disorganised. 3-4 different waitresses came to our table and we didn't know who was for our table. Also there was this waitress with French accent that kept on looking at us and smiling nonstop for no reason. It felt a bit weird. It made me feel uncomfortable as she kept on passing our table and staring & smiling and when she talked to us she talked as if we were mates instead of customers. I just think that they should train the staff a bit more in more professional service. But u would recommend.

Great service and good food helped make a birthday lunch very enjoyable. Were seated downstairs with a good through breeze on a hot day. Traffic can be a little noisy but not enough to interrupt conversation. Upstairs looked great for a private function - would go back.

Lovely place however the steak was too salty, and has been previously too. Nice local hub with a friendly vibe and service is great, thanks!

Friendly service. I had the eye fillet - it was dry without a sauce or jus which I found unusual with the tiniest amount of brocollini.

I was disappointed in my meal - the haloumi cheese was far too salty and parts of most of the pieces were burnt. The rocket leaves that came with it were very wilted. The previous time I had this same dish, I did not experience these issues at all.

I booked a lunch for a work colleague's farewell via Quandoo. This is my second time using an online booking service .. the other was Dimmi... The Cookhouse do not seem to be aware of bookings made online. Even though the booking was not in their handwritten book - fortunately there was a table available. The lunch specials are attractively priced and served to the table of eight in good time. The selection we had made were all fresh and delicious. It was an easy and enjoyable occasion. I recommend that you book via phone to be 100% certain.

A good place for lunch in Randwick, although a little noisy as it is so popular. A good wine list and tap water served in vodka bottles!

Had a booking at 8pm on a Tuesday which was Eat all you Can Ribs.. and they ran OUT of ribs.. on a the day of their special.. That and the fact that it took 40mins for our order of 3mains and 1 side to arrive when there were a lot of empty tables around. Ive been to restaurants and bars where ive received my order for 5 -8 dishes faster than that. For the price i expected better. Other than those everything else, the waitresses and the quality of the food were very friendly and on point. The place has a very nice ambience and unique interior designs. Would probably call next time first though to make sure they havent ran out of any dishes that i am looking forward to.

Excellent. Really good food. Great atmosphere. We were upstairs which was nice, looking out over the street. Maybe live music like a guitarist would be good upstairs. Nothing too intrusive.
