Food always good and even though it was very busy, food was ready in record time. Staff are very friendly and place is always clean

Food and atmosphere were great but lack of parking was the big problem and would make me think twice before booking a function there again.

We booked late but were accommodated, there was a good atmosphere, and the food & beverage were top notch. We have been to the Gov several times now and always found the food & service to be excellent.

The food was good, service had improved since previous visit in October. But very noisy.

The food is very good but the staff were hovering waiting to whisk the plates away too quickly. I’d definitely recommend it and look forward to going back again 😃

As it was close to Christmas and sure to be busy, I booked 2 weeks in advance for 6 people in the Bistro. When we arrived we were told "there were a lot of functions" so we would be on stools in the bar. We would have left but eventually a table in the Bistro was found for us. Our food was good but several tables near us were actually unoccupied all night !!!

Not great at all. The Governor doesn't know what it wants to be... upmarket RSL club perhaps?. A cross between trying to be a bar and a club. Lots of money spent on lovely interiors, but that interior restaurant with no outlook is a noisy box. Was extremely disappointed to find it was a order at the bar get a buzzer experience. The food was very average for prices that were in excess of the quality that was delivered. The prawn meat in the gnocchi was barely cooked. We were hopeful the Nth Shore could deliver a good local...not so and we won't be going back. BTW - my 24yr old and 22 yr old said they wouldn't go there with their friends either. No atmosphere.

Parking extremely limited even though it was a Monday night. Decor nice but you have to line up at bar and wait for bartenders to finish mixing drinks for your restaurant booking, and then get referred to another person who takes you to table. No table service for drinks or meals...so you even have to collect your own food. At these prices they should be delivered to table. Wagyu beef ragu pappardelle tasteless and tad dry though beef was tender. Vegetarian pizza no herbs so again flavorless. There were 6 in our group but none of us would return based on this first time experience. Staff don't engage with you and no one bothered to enquire how our food was.

My first Visit to the Governor and I was very impressed. The large trendy atmosphere, I love the booths, all adds up in addition to delicious pub food and drinks. I highly recommend a visit for friends or work. 👍🏼

The service Was very disappointing. No table service and not enough employees. They can do much better. The food was good though. Hope that this can be improved in the future.

We arrived for a family pre Xmas dinner. NO BLIMMIN PARKING AVAILABLE. Food, drinks, staff all amazing but NO PARKING! Probably need to address this huge problem or people won't come back!

We had a great night. Very busy for a Tuesday night. Glad we booked a table. Got served fast. Food was yummy. Made for a great night out

Great atmosphere, would be great to develop the outside area further to allow lunch setups in hot days. Service was good, and all guests were served at the same time.

Food was great didn’t realise no table service. Sat outside which was great on a hot day not a lot of outdoor seating so could get very busy.

Very good location, convenient from all of my friends at work to hang out after work, cannot go wrong on any food we order , perfect room for a group of people and upstairs the open space for everyone is fantastic, highly recommended to all workmates ( staff very professional and friendly)

The calamari was very tender and a great salt & pepper coating. The steak was great and cooked as requested. . The Poke salad had little too much dressing.

Nice bar and restaurant area. Service and staff are all great. Food was fresh and plentiful. Had the green bowl with sashimi which was fresh and a good serving size. Others had pizza which was also good. The panna cotta and fried apple pie dessert was also very good. There is also a very nice rooftop bar opened in the evening with great views.

The food was delicious and all round good service. Spacious dining area, with secluded booths and a lovely rooftop bar with delicious cocktails and nibbles.

Modern interior with lovely atmosphere. Staff very friendly although they needed more bar staff - cocktail were very popular - had to wait 10mins to be served a glass of wine!!

Was a nice dinner, paying $60 plus for 2 people though, you’d expect some table service! Drinks menu is lovely - atmosphere is nice also

Nice food with good variety, lovely modern Hotel. Not many parking spaces if you are not a member. Food and drinks discount if you are a member so probably worth looking into if you are going regularly.

The staff were absolutely amazing and the hotel is exceptional. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great night out. We were on the roof top bar which was superb!

shame when they tell you when you're leaving that the courtesy bus is not running as they are short staffed - great ! As we were relying on the courtesy bus - guess we'll start going back to our old digs where the the courtesy bus was reliable.

Great food, great atmosphere. Be sure to book if you want the rooftop experience as in the lead up to Christmas it is quite popular.

Great friendly service on a busy Saturday night. We had one of the carriage rooms which made for a more private experience. Good food choices also.

Experience was positive with food pretty nice & booth seating a good option but parking is definitely a problem and this needs to be resolved.

All the staff where great food was amazing. Only issue as that it was delayed a bit but understable as it was a busy night

Apart from the awkward and unusual access to the rooftop bar and restaurant, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was exceptional...loved the shared platters. Atmosphere was delightful....we even laughed about getting lost in the access hallway /staircase. I guess it is only on the first visit that you get lost!!

Great ambiance. Order less initially as its gonna be good quantity. Looks great for any type of event and friendly staff. Be ready to order at the counter though

The bistro food was good but was not great and there is no table service. The roof top bar is nice. There not enough parking.

Great lunch venue with excellent Steaks with pepper sauce, fast service perfect for a business meeting. Bar service was friendly and fast. Good new option in Macquarie Park

Quick, friendly service. Tasty food. Higher end of pricing $22 - $30 mains. Venue Member pricing is available but no one offered or explained membership details.

Great atmosphere and friendly service. The meal was enjoyable also and our meals came out quite quickly. When we arrived it wasn't as busy but it got busy towards the end of our time there. Obviously a popular local for a lot of people in the area. The downsides of this venue is that there is limited parking available. In addition to this, I had the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce but there was not enough sauce so the schnitzel seemed dry. I think the size of the sauce pot should be larger (it is an extra $3 and not worth it at the moment).

Great Oasis in Macquarie Park. Real surprise. Good pub food, menu and very tasty! Did not get a chance to try the Rooftop beer garden. Next time!

Great food but not your typical pub menu The venue is really cool, with lots of different areas to suit your group/occasion The best part is the staff, everyone I have dealt with has been amazing, friendly and super accommodating

My favorite place! been there 5-6 times so far and every time was so happy. The food is awesome and the rooftop bar which is just opened is another great addition to this hotel.

Food and atmosphere nice. The staff very helpful but it took a very long time to receive our meals. Although I had booked via Quandoo, our table had not been reserved. We were lucky to get one when we arrived as it was very busy.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere at The governor Hotel. Great food as well. Only down fall is the parking. There is only very limited parking and otherwise you need to park on the street. street parking is also very limited!

The food was great and the staff were very friendly. Lamb shoulder was so yummy. This is a really good location for a corporate lunch/dinner.

Very impressed with the whole experience. The food and the amenities are just what North Ryde BC needs. Would be a venue to consider for our Christmas function....Well done!

had a quick lunch with friends, food arrived quickly, environment was relaxing, staff were friendly and accommodating. good to have a this type of venue at Macquarie park.

We ate in the Governor bistro, the schnitzel was excellent. The pizza was okay but I usually prefer it a bit browner. The chairs were really uncomfortable, they look good but were really squashy because the arms of the chairs were too narrow. The service was great and they have a good range of beers on tap.
