The Toff In Town

We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and relaxed, friendly service on an unusually warm late afternoon. The Toff is now on the shortlist of venues for frequent rotation.

We have been on multiple occasions but we were very disappointed with being the staff were late with our table and then the drink/table service was appalling. When we finally ordered they didn't have the items we had ordered. we most likely not go back there

Excellent service and foods. The carriages are always a romantic option for a date.. the duck was good and the crispy calamari excellent. Good that the menu changes regularly.

The venue offers one of the best experiences ever. We really enjoyed the ambience! Also the staff were prompt, attentive and considerate. Thank you so much.

Our dinner party had a vegan, vegetarian and a ceoliac. There was plenty of food on the menu to cater to all dietry requirements. Friendliest staff and great environment for dining out. Thankyou.

We came early and got a booth. Very classy place. Waiters were attentive as usual. Drinks were fantastic. Would definitely come again, especially with people I wanted to impress

Great food, wine and staff. The atmosphere is lively without being too much. We did find the music a notch too loud so there was a bit of loud talking at our table. Overall we love The Toff

Great atmosphere....and terrific food! Best Massaman Curry on the planet! The booths were very comfortable and private. Thought we had wandered onto the set of an exotic film! We'll be back!

Perfect for business meetings / liaisons. Fantastic food, great service and well located in the center of town. Nice that tables can be booked ahead of time.

The music was ridiculously loud so we could hardly talk, the service was rude, the food very average. Appalling really. I would not recommend it to anybody.

It is a very nice restaurant bar. There is a dance floor, and the acoustic equipment is top class in Melbourne! The food was also delicious. I want to go again.

A promising start with plenty of expert attention from the staff and a quirky booth for our group of 5.The food was tasty and interesting but a little overpriced for the quantities provided.The service was lacking then as the restaurant got busier.Overall,a fun place.

Really tasty dishes that are great to share with friends. The food comes out really fast, so I recommend ordering progressively rather than all up front.

Great food - excellent Thai-inspired tapas from Cookie downstairs (love the chef there). Atmosphere fun but still have privacy if in a booth. Somewhat pricey.

Great food, great service and great ambience - will definitely return! We chose to do the banquet and the food was spicy but divine...couldn't finish it as much as we'd wanted to :)

We were running 40mns late for our 7 o'clock 'booth' booking, and the Staff did a great job of finding us another booth within 10mns of arriving, as they only hold booth reservations for I think 20mns? Mind you they may want to make sure that they answer their phone, as I was trying continuously to contact them to let them know that I was running half n hour later. But never the less the Staff were great! : )

The food was delicious and the staff were helpful and attentive. They were also very accommodating in relation to catering for allergies and dietary requirements.

The food is to die for! I love the stage coach dining cars, very quaint. Great range of cocktails. My only complaint, the music is way too loud. When I eat out with friends, I want to be able to have a conversation, and not yell. We asked for the music to be turned down, which they did, but it was still too loud. Will be back though.

Cosy, cute, hip and gorgeous wait staff. Nice menu and select of drinks. An improvement would be the doors closing better on the carriages as pedestrians from the rooftop cinema are noisy and jaywalk all around the Toff as they look for friends and get in your intimate dining space. So more privacy would be an important improvement.

The food is great at the Toff and the atmosphere is fun. The only drawback is that the music is always too loud for normal dinnertime conversation.

A great night at Toff in Town watching Broads launch their new single, preceded by dinner at Choo Choos. We let the waitress choose the dishes, and she did so perfectly.

Great food perfect drinks and excellent service. There's a bar, restaurant. Live music and then head up to a rooftop bar on a perfect night. What more could you want?

Great service and beautiful food. Our waiter offered to choose the dishes on our banquet. We told him our likes and dislikes and his selection was fantastic. Great place - will be back.

Amongst the myriad of cool bars and hip joints in Melbourne The Toff is a constant. If you can snag a booth it's the best of both worlds - a buzzy atmosphere but still a sense of intimacy where you can actually hear what your mates are saying.

Atmosphere and service is always great. Most the dishes were as well, but they are small and that pork neck sausage had some seriously surprising fire! 🌶🌶🌶

The food was delicious, especially the Massaman curry and salads. I love the ambience with the booths. Will definitely recommend this venue and restaurant to my friends.

Very personable & friendly staff – our waiter Sam was fantastic. Service was excellent, and the 3 plates we shared were varied and delicious. Great drinks selection too. Will definitely return.

The overall experience was really good, A lovely atmosphere.The whole building has lots to offer including rooftop cinema where I will be checking out in the summer!

Great venue! The food was good but not worth the price tag. However, I'ld come back as it was a lot of fun and great atmosphere

Great service and loved the booths and the service call bell. We enjoyed our G&T's and a great selection of dishes. Could have done with a few more vegetarian options.

The cocktails and food were terrific. The music was a wonderful addition, and the carraige room booths are fun. The only negative is that the cocktails are very expensive, basically $20 each. But they're made with care and excellent ingredients. However, if you want to really drink the night will cost hundreds.

Great little restaurant for dates or catch ups with friends. Wide variety of food and drink available. Lots of cocktails, a whole page of Old Fashioned's. Fair few beers on offer, but more at Cookie. The booths are awesome for a sense of privacy and private dining.

Five of us booked on Friday night at short notice for 6pm and there was plenty of room. It was confusing on the web which restrauant we were booking at Curtin house for we were looking to book for cookies. The meal portions were medium but tasty, the calamari was chewy and there were no sides on the plate. The atmosphere was great but probably would not go back.

The Toff is brilliant for date night or a casual catch up after work. Great cocktails and delicious menu.

The staff are always super friendly and personalise the experience by sharing what their favourites are on the menu. The menu does change, but the food and flavours are always stunning!!
