Consider how lucky you are when you stroll into this welcoming Chinese restaurant on Leake Street. Devastated by a fire, Essendon locals treated the closing of Tope Restaurant like the mourning of a family member. But Tope Restaurant has come back from the dead and is better and more popular than ever. With the trademark friendly service and consistent quality they were always known for, Tope is again serving up outstanding traditional Chinese dishes. The lemon chicken is a long-standing favourite, and their versions of san choy bow are among the finest in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, while their dim sims and varied dumplings are perfect for sharing among a group, so get your gang together and celebrate Tope Restaurant’s return to Essendon!
Delicious food, will definitely be back here soon! Literally, try the Delicious chicken or Delicious Prawns. Reasonable prices, attentive service and love it is BYO.
Food is so amazing and the service is always great! Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed and even a little romantic!
Food was excellent, however under staffed which meant a bit hit and miss with the service but overall a good experience at a good price
Small pleasant restaurant with a friendly staff in attendance. Wide choice of food and drinks on the menu. Overall enjoyed the experience and the food was great. Liked the fact that we weren't rushed in and out as is often the case in restaurants these days. Bill came in at $96.00 for two, including a bottle of wine. Will go there again.
We had a lovely night. Food was quite nice. The beef dish was a little bit tough but overall not too bad. Would visit again
FOOD EXCEPTIONAL - LITTLE BIT OF CONFUSION IN COMMUNICATING WITH STAFF - NOTHING TO DO WITH ETHNICITY - JUST SEEMED TO BE ON DIFFERENT WAVELENGTH.
Tried this restaurant before and decided to bring some interstate visitors. We were very disappointed. Service was very poor. The chicken dish we ordered was very dry. We were quite embarrassed. Won't go again.
