From humble beginnings as a South Sydney neighbourhood pizza joint, Amici di Kogarah has expanded to include a menu that encompasses breakfast, lunch and dinner, alongside a full-stocked and licensed bar. They specialise in traditional Italian favourites such as risotto and linguine, as well as the classic gelato for when dinner is over. Found on Belgrave Street in Kogarah, Amici di Kogarah is an authentic taste of Italy that all the family can enjoy.
Amici di Kogarah is a Belgrave Street-based Italian restaurant with something to offer all day and late into the night. They begin with a selection of Aussie breakfast classics, from bacon rolls to omelettes and eggs Benedict, and by lunchtime they really hit their groove, with favourites from their homeland in the form of paninis and pizza al taglio, Roman-style square slices that keeping the Kogarah natives ticking over until teatime. As the afternoon becomes evening, the main restaurant opens and the full menu of Italian classics is revealed, with everything from linguine and risotto to steak and fish dishes, all made with fresh ingredients.
Amici di Kogarah made their name as a pizza joint, and they were so successful in pleasing the hungry public of South Sydney with their wood-fired oven that they were able to grow into the full restaurant they are today. Giovanni, the manager of the Kogarah cafe, has also designed a wine list and cocktail selection to match their menu, and, as one would expect of an Italian restaurant, their after-dinner gelato is second-to-none, making Amici di Kogarah the perfect dining destination for young and old alike.
We had Great service and delicious food. We didn't have to wait long for our entrees. The Seafood was cooked to perfection. We will be back again thank you.
Great food and cosy atmosphere. Staff easy to deal with. Not noisy. Chef never dissapoits with fresh and generous amount if food. Will be back.
The food was great, the service was wonderful. The prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was lovely too with the gas heaters and low lighting. The only downer was we didn't receive water for our table which would have made it perfect.
Meals were fantastic and the service great. The pizzas are amazing and I highly recommend that you also have the salads as well with the meals.
Great food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere from the entire waiting staff made our first dining experience at this wonderful restaurant fantastic. Will now make Amici di Kogarah a regular on my preferred restaurant list from now on and recommend to my friends, many thanks to all.
Very friendly service and authentic italian pizza with quality ingredients. Excellent! My husband enjoyed Fathers Day and no doubt we will go to Amici di Kogarah again.
No problems at all with the booking, friendly staff and did not have to wait very long for the food to come out. On top of that the food was good and the prices were quite reasonable. We all enjoyed a good lunch.
Our first visit and we enjoyed our food. The service was very good, and when we found one of our dishes was incomplete, it was quickly remedied. The venue was a little noisy for us, but we have experienced far worse - so OK. We will be back.
The atmosphere was pleasant with outdoor and indoor eating areas. The wait staff were very traditional as they had italian accents. The food was fairly fancy with some great selections and the taste was very good. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Food was tasty and the table service was lovely The only problem was the main meal took 1.40 hour to come out .. totally understand that it was Mother's Day and they were busy However they should have had more staff on .. we had to ask for drinks about 5 times .. and meals all come out at different times I would go back but not for a special occasion !!
