Black Hill Hotel

It was our first time visiting the Black Hill Hotel and both the service and the food were exceptional. My children raved about their meals and mine was 'pure joy' on a plate. I also witnessed both the service staff and the chef dealing with another customer who had misinterpreted the menu, and I was impressed by their level of professionalism. Overall, a wonderful evening. Thank you, we will be back!

Staying nearby on a 3 night visit to Ballarat. Easy but uphill walk to try the local pub. Service and quality of the meal exceeded all expectations. We'll return.

All was pretty good except having 2 separate tables for our group of 14.

Lovely staff and delicious food. However a 45 min for children’s meal was a long wait.

We booked for 15 and were seated over two tables. Not an issue. The first table were served meals in a timely manner. The second table did not receive meals for a very long time, when it got to the point that we had to ask and eventually they were served. We made it clear to staff that we all had to leave by 7pm, hence we booked for 5:30pm. The second table were still eating at 7pm so not impressed at all. All the orders were taken at the same time so I don't understand the significant time delay. Some of us waited over an hour for their meal which wasn't good enough given we ordered at the same time and the first table got their meals (including steak)

Veg were half frozen , ironic we were charged extra for not having salad. Steak was slightly burnt.100 $ plus for 2 poor meals

we ordered medium and medium well steaks, but they turned out to be overcooked for us, waited for a long time

Always a great meal at our local, the Black Hill Hotel. Beer is fresh and cold. They obviously clean the lines regularly. Highly recommend.

Ordered the chicken pie and it was awful.second person had pie as well and said his was awful.third person had snitzel and it was overcooked.

Thursday is Steak night, the steak was perfectly cooked and the pepper sauce was lovely, I had the chicken stir fry and it was delicious. Good food and good service.

The meal outdid our expectations.Steaks were cooked perfectly and just the right size salad and chips. We had the chocolate pudding for dessert…was cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and swift. Our servers were very professional in taking our orders and coming back to check on us as the night went on. We were a group and were able to pay separately at the end. Was a really great night in a great pub, that will will def be back to eat again.

The garlic bread was too oily. The steak was cooked to my partner liking, the prawn sauce was ok, there was heaps of veggies & chips - excellent meal. My chicken involinti was delicious. The service was excellent, very friendly.
